10-year-old knew a woman was trying to lure him—he rushed to a stranger and made a request that saved him

Great survival instincts might come in handy in several challenging situations. A brave 10-year-old showed just that when a woman was trying to kidnap him. The boy was walking home down a street from his house when the incident happened. The woman followed him and told him that she knew his dad and he could get anything he wanted if he came with her. But the boy, Sammy Green, remembered what his dad had taught him about situations like these and ran to another woman with a request, per 6abc Philadelphia.

The boy's father, Sam Green, saw the video of the woman trying to kidnap his son through CCTV footage from a store nearby and it made him feel quite scared even after the incident was over. "She said he was supposed to go with her and he could get anything he wanted," Green recounted. However, the boy knew something was off. He remembered what to do in such a case and entered a familiar store. The owner, Dani Small, explained, "He felt comfortable enough to come in here and came right around the corner where Hannah was and he whispered in her ear." Hannah, the store clerk, was present there and Sammy whispered in her ear, "Act like you are my mom. This lady is following me."

The clerk noticed that the said woman was still standing at the door and holding it open. Hannah comforted the boy, walked up to the woman and shut her out. She locked the door and the woman walked away immediately after that. The dad didn't know why the woman followed his son, but was glad that his son could keep himself safe and the clerk was there to help him out. "He just knew something was not right and did what he needed to do," Small remarked. "He did what he was supposed to do because he didn't know the person," the dad added. The police also appreciated the boy for doing the right thing and for keeping his cool throughout a frightening ordeal.
The authorities were able to locate the woman who tried to kidnap the boy and shared that they were trying to get mental health assistance for her. People applauded the boy and the clerk for their actions in the comments section of the video. Many people also shared their own similar experiences. @HereForTheComments990 wrote, "I love that clerk! She listened to the boy and believed him! She took immediate action to protect him. Good woman!" @camillecali2 commented, "The store clerk calmly walked over to the door and locked it. What an amazing presence of mind. Both of these young people are amazing."
@dawnr7798 shared, "I was 15 and had a man following me through a parking lot. I was so scared. I saw another man walk out of a store and ran up to him. I asked him to pretend that he knows me because there’s a man following me. He asked me to point out the man and when I did, he went after him. I ran inside the store. I wish I had stayed to see what happened and also to thank the man who helped me. I’m 46 years old now. To the man who was my good Samaritan, if you are reading this, thank you!" @user-mwj remarked, "That clerk and owner would certainly get my business if I lived there. I’m so glad that they helped him."
