6-year-old returns from school with a huge 'diamond ring' — her mom was stunned when she learned the truth

Children often leave their parents in stitches with hilarious examples of their innocence. However, the story of a 6-year-old girl who came back home with a diamond ring from school might not be something one gets to hear every day. A boy at school had offered that ring to the girl and asked her to be his girlfriend. What followed next was a total laugh riot as the mom, Allie Philips, shared their story on TikTok, where she goes by @.allie.philips.

The woman shared that she has a 6-year-old daughter in first grade. Her "boyfriend from kindergarten" sat right behind her, per the mom. "All she talks about is Brandon. She loves Brandon. They are getting married," Phillips joked. But one day the girl came home and told her mom that she might want to sit down for this one. "She tells me that at recess she was playing and a little boy named Trevor came up to her, who is in her class and gave her this ring," the woman explained, showing a diamond ring with a gold band. "He asked her to be his girlfriend and so she dumped Brandon, her kindergarten boyfriend whom she has been with for a year now," the mom shared while holding back her laughter.
The mom was not sure if the ring was a real diamond or not, but she thought it could belong to someone from the boy's family. She asked her daughter where Trevor got that ring from. "Oh, he says he buys them all the time," the girl, Adalie, remarked. The mom was pretty shocked and thought the ring might actually belong to his mom. So she posted a picture of the ring along with the story on one of the school pages on Facebook. The ring was the size of an adult's finger, so it could have been an engagement ring or a wedding band. "I just want to make sure that it gets back to its rightful owner." She added, "His mom reached out to me and confirmed that it was indeed Trevor's great-grandmother's ring."
The grandma lived in Alabama, and the boy took the ring when they visited her shortly. "Not only did he steal a ring, but he crossed state lines with it," Phillips pointed out. The ring was sent back to the boy's mom and then to his great-grandmother. "So, there's a love story for you. Maybe he'll get dumped tomorrow by my daughter and she'll go back to Brandon, but who knows?" Things actually didn't work that well for Trevor in the end. "At first, Brandon was really mad and wouldn’t talk to either of them, but then a week later, she came home and told me that she and Trevor broke up and she was back together with Brandon," the mom told TODAY.

Many people shared their views on the funny situation in the comments section of the video. @same0823 wrote, "Your daughter out here with a more active dating life than I’ve had in the past decade. She is my role model!" @georgeanngrub215 commented, "My 1st-grade boyfriend stole his sister's new engagement ring and proposed to me in 1954. We gave it back and still laugh about it at reunions!" @chelocean734 remarked, "Trevor risking his freedom to give your baby girl a ring!"
