9-year-old boy saw a girl being bullied at his school—the response he chose left his mom absolutely stunned

Some kids could even surprise their parents with their kindness and maturity. They often choose to do the right thing even if the consequences would not be in their favor. A nine-year-old boy named Beckham Jackson, who decided to become friends with a girl who was being bullied at his school, did something similar. He wanted to offer her a drink and invite her to a play date at his home to make her feel better about the situation at school. The kid's mom Erin Rose Jackson–who goes by @erinrjackson on Instagram–shared that she was really proud of her son.

Beckham was driving to school with his mom and stopped on the way to buy a drink for his classmate. He decided to offer her to be friends and have a play date to make her feel a little better. He shared that nobody in the class was kind to the girl. As the mom dropped Beckham at school, she told him, "I love you, I am so proud of you." Erin shared that her younger son asked his brother, "Do you think your friends are going to bully you now too?" She shared that Beckham, without skipping a beat, answered, "I don't know. But if they do, they weren't really my friends anyway."
Erin was proud that her son chose "that one person who was being bullied over the 20 people who were bullying her. Because that was the right thing to do." "That kid's heart can change the whole world," the mom expressed. Later, the girl's mom reached out to Erin to thank the family for reaching out to her and being kind. "This has been a really hard year for her and this meant so much to me." The mom hoped that her daughter could come in for a play date as that would make her really happy. The caption read, "The greatest lessons I’ve learned have come from my 9-year-old. May we all be so lucky to have a Beckham Jackson in our lives."

In another update, Erin shared more details of the incident. "A month ago, this kid caught wind of someone in his class being bullied. He reached out with friendship and acts of kindness, not only changing the trajectory of her time at the school but making a new friend himself." The mom continued, "In his words, 'One day after I invited her to a play date and brought her Starbucks, then the main bully was playing with her at recess. I had no idea kindness could work so quickly!'" She admitted, "He's constantly seeking to understand and love rather than assume and judge. He is goodness and kindness and on a mission to spread it to the ends of the earth." People appreciated Beckham for his kindness in the comments.

Go, Beckham! I’ve been praying for a smooth transition for all of you." @ginamariedill commented, "He is one special kid! The world is lucky to have his kindness."
