Boyfriend said he waited outside her house daily after work like a romantic gesture — but a video game exposed his 3-month-long lie
There’s no room for lies in a relationship, and when honesty and communication are sidelined, the foundation is affected. TikTok user Bella Donna, who also goes by @dedevious, shared a post on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, revealing that her bond with her boyfriend changed immediately after she discovered how he had been lying to her for three months straight. Due to her shift timings, Donna would reach home only around 2 a.m. The man claimed he waited in his car before she could finish her night shift so they could spend time together. However, one hint from him prompted her to check her gaming system and exposed the truth.
One day, he discussed a game, APEX Legends, that they used to play together. He mentioned that there was a new update the previous day. What made her suspicious was the fact that neither of them had played that day, since they were together throughout. She looked at the timestamp and learned that the footage was from her PlayStation at 11.37 p.m. It didn’t make sense because she got home only at 2.30 a.m. “Do you have a key to my house?” she asked, but he denied it. She later realized that he had copied her house key. “Every single day for the past three months, he was going into my house while I was at work,” the woman remarked.
APEX Legends is a video game that allows groups to play together as “squads” and compete in battles. It offers different modes, characters, and storylines to choose from. According to Insights, the game has an automatic recording mode designed to capture the strategy to analyze moves later. Additional features include highlights and timestamps, making it easier to review when a match was played, evaluate performance, and share them with fellow players. The simple visual pushed Donna to dig deeper until she discovered that her gut feeling was right.
She was completely confused and shocked. The man initially denied it when she confronted him. However, when she showed him the timestamp, he had to admit the truth. He revealed that she had left her keys in her car one day, and he took the opportunity to have a copy made. Ever since, he had been going into her home and waiting until she finished work. Once her shift ended and she texted him that she was leaving, he’d get out of the house and pretend he had pulled up only minutes earlier.
Calling him “crazy,” she decided to end the relationship, but what frightened her most was the fact that he had been entering her home and doing “whatever” while she wasn't there. The internet was terrified for her. @chubbycharm remarked, “This is so violating.” @likethatnoir wrote, “You didn’t notice something felt off at home? I notice when my office chair moves.” @des_tha_stamps added, “Another reason why I have a fingerprint lock with timestamps.”
