Treating people nicely can come back to a person in the most unexpected ways. However, an ice-cream store owner was not expecting his "little buddies" to save his shop from a burglary. The two kids, 9-year-old Adonis and 10-year-old Jayceon, had gone to the shop for a sweet treat when they noticed something was amiss. The shop was shut and the glass was shattered. Then the next action they took earned them loads of praise and applause from their community, per Fox 2 Now.

"We came out here to try to buy some ice cream, and his window was just shattered. So we just started hearing noise, and I said, 'Who’s in here?'" Adonis recounted. The ice cream shop, Aunt Jamie’s, on S. Broadway and Krauss Street, in South St. Louis, was shut at that time and the owner was not present. The boys decided to contact the owner, Aaron Roesch. However, the man couldn't be reached on his phone. So the kids quickly called the police instead. They also waited at the shop until the police arrived at the scene. Fortunately, the burglar was stuck and couldn't get out of the shop and the police could get him. "If I didn’t have a friendship with these kids, that guy would have walked away scot-free," Roesch expressed.

The kids expressed that the owner was really nice to them and deserved to be supported. "I don’t know why people do this to him… he is a nice guy, he shouldn't be treated how people treat him," Jayceon shared. Roesch added, "These fellows have become my friends and some days they just come out and just hang out and do their homework and draw or whatever." Jayceon went on, "We’re like his little buddies." The kids were not hurt and the owner decided to press charges against the burglar. The shop had been opened recently and was named after Roesch's godmother. The shop sells coffee, ice cream, and dessert. People applauded the brave kids in the comments section of the video.

@ArtsyLadyCrafter wrote, "I hope the owner gets continuous new business because of this incident. So glad these boys were not hurt through their valiant efforts. Will pray for their continued safety and positive advancement in life." @TeeKeeps commented, "Remember this fam... we truly can live without money. Just help each other. We have more than we know at the moment. Be nice and humanitarian. Study everything from gematria, astrology, numerology, Chinese zodiac, etc. Explore respectfully. Education is free. No littering and stay healthy.

The channel also shared a Facebook post on the incident. Tammy Drayton remarked, "Those boys did a brave thing by calling out and staying there when the police stayed. The burglar could have done something bad to them both and that would have been horrible. Being a business that has been open for a month now and those two and the owner already have a strong bond is amazing. Sounds like the owner is more like a big brother to those boys and is what they need in their lives. Good job, you two. I wish you both a successful and bright future. Good job to their parents on raising good and respectful young men."
