Wedding days are supposed to be about celebrating love, but sometimes, family drama has a way of stealing the spotlight. One woman, who goes by u/Any-Neighborhood-522 on Reddit, had a particularly unpleasant experience with her brother's new girlfriend at her own wedding. The woman had caused quite a scene, demanding attention and even getting into an argument with her boyfriend in front of the family. Years later, when her brother married the same woman, she decided to put the past aside and show up for him. But the wedding took an unexpected turn when the bride had an embarrassing mishap in front of all the guests.

The woman recalled that her brother had only been dating his now-wife for a few weeks when he brought her as his plus-one to her wedding. The girlfriend quickly stole the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. She yelled, cursed, fought with her boyfriend in front of the guests, and even told people they were engaged when they weren't. She also argued with the bride's sister-in-law, making things uncomfortable for everyone. Years later, the woman who posted the story attended her brother's wedding, where his wife had an embarrassing mishap. While walking down the stairs toward the aisle, the bride slipped, landed hard on her backside, and ended up face-first on the landing in front of everyone. The woman couldn't help feeling that karma had finally caught up with her brother's wife.

The woman admitted that she wasn't wishing harm on her brother's wife, but the timing of the fall felt almost too ironic. The bride tried to laugh it off, and the guests eventually joined in, but the woman could tell she was furious underneath the smile. She also said that the bride and her family had been demanding toward the wedding venue staff throughout the weekend, which only reinforced her impression of their behavior.

Other people reading about the fuss couldn't help laughing at the unexpected turn of events, with some joking that karma had made a very public appearance. u/Due-Topic7995 commented, "I hope the videographer got that on tape lol!!!! I mean, I’m glad she was overall ok. Cough karma cough." u/Total_Entrepreneur44 wrote, "This is the best thing I’ve read all day. Karma definitely took her on a ‘trip’" u/IslandWifey29 added, "Please post action shots; this is hilarious."

Wedding drama can be especially messy when it involves the people you’re closest to, and sometimes, the hurt lingers long after the celebrations. In one case, a woman was upset when her best friend, who was her maid of honor, invited her to a destination wedding in Las Vegas but left her husband off the invitation. The couple had been close to the bride and her fiancé, so the exclusion came as a shock. When the woman tried to explain why it hurt, her friend brushed off her concerns. The best friend ultimately questioned whether she should attend the wedding at all.
