It feels heartbreaking not to fit in because you can not afford certain items or luxuries. Usually, kids don’t understand why they can’t afford some things, unlike their friends. They only feel the pain of being secluded and left out. Young Levi was also disheartened after learning he would not be a part of Pajama Day in his school like the rest of the students, per TODAY. However, when bus driver Larry Farrish Jr. learned of his situation, he turned the boy’s day around with his selfless and thoughtful act. The driver is being appreciated for his kindness and it’s an inspiring reminder to reach out in generosity.

35-year-old Farrish Jr. recalled seeing the young student behaving unusually. “Normally, when I pull up, he’s standing there waiting for me with a big smile, but that day, he was sitting on the ground with a jacket over his head,” the driver noted. The driver knew something was off. “He saw my head looking down and when I got on the bus, he asked me what was wrong. When I looked up, tears came out of my eyes,” Levi said, per WDRB News. When he asked him what was wrong, he was upset to hear that the boy didn’t have pajamas to wear to school for Pajama Day. Levi was forced to sit away from his friends and felt left out.

Noticing his pain, the driver thought of something. “I felt his sadness, so I went back to the school so Levi would have a better day,” Farrish Jr. remarked. He got the student a pair of pajamas and handed them over to him. “I said, ‘You were hurting this morning, you were crying so I got you these pajamas.’ He was so excited — you should’ve seen how his face lit up,” the man recalled. When asked what pushed him to the gesture, he said, “Being raised in a great household, it's kind of hard to see other kids growing up not so good, so this is so important, and it means so much to me.”

Levi was stoked to receive the pair out of love and mentioned that he did a “happy cry” while hugging the pajamas to his chest. Thanks to a kind and gentle bus driver with a heart of gold, the boy's Pajama Day with friends became a truly wholesome experience. Jefferson County School shared a glimpse of Levi and Farrish Jr. and their splendid time with the newly purchased pajamas. Glimpses of the duo holding the new pair and Levi posing with his friends, flaunting his PJs, were a heart-melting sight for many people.
