Many men get offended when the nature of their community is questioned even when they know how others have posed danger to women. Women’s safety is largely threatened due to suspicious men and still many of them get upset and defensive when they’re called out. While remarks like 'men are the worst' are not for all men, a majority of the male population has personalities deemed dangerous to women. A daughter, Maria (@mariaalcoptia), recalled in a post on X the time when she had made an unruly comment about men. When the woman’s dad was offended at the remark, her mom stepped in to shut him down with the most valid and spot-on reason

“One time years ago, I said, ‘Men are trash,’ and my dad got annoyed by it,” the woman recalled. To make the dad understand from what perspective the woman was speaking, her mom interrupted with a self-explanatory example. She said, “When you’re warning her not to be out late, to be careful, telling her that it’s not safe, etc., who are you warning her about? Not women.” The mom’s honest and upfront comment was a clear winner in the debate. No dad can turn down the fact that they are worried for their daughter's safety, mostly at the hands of other men. Several women recounted having similar conversations with their fathers. Turns out, many parents have similar perspectives as fathers but contradict themselves as men.

@KnaughtyKnancy wrote, “These are not lies. I would tell my dad I was going to hang out with friends, he’d immediately ask if there would be boys. I’d say yes but they’re just friends and his immediate response was always, ‘Trust me—I remember when I was their age.’ The discourse between fathers and daughters is to trust no man and learn to take care of yourself.” @Pumpkaboo97 added, “Fathers really will spend the first 10-15 years of your life trying to tell you all these negative things about boys, like 'men only want one thing,' and then be actually shocked when in our 20s we associate men with the exact negative things they told us for years.”

All these instances only made the reality of the theory more visible. @solospacepilot remarked, “It's almost like men want to be able to say it, or insinuate it, but get very offended when anyone else says it.” @ChimoEsport shared, “Dads that are overly protective of their girls often know it because they were that teenager.” @bhadgirlcoco revealed, “Was literally explaining this the other day and this certain man got upset.” @millywest56 revealed, “That's what confuses me about men who get upset and go 'not all men' cause dads do say all men all the time.”

Several people applauded the mom for her spot-on response. There was no better takedown. @DogsDogsMoreDogs wrote, “Your mum was 100% right.” @Hughesyourdaddy remarked, "Literally the simplest, clearest, and best argument to make." @Mandy3663 wrote, “Mom pulled that Uno reverse.” @PlanetPluvio mentioned, “We all know who the dangers are. But for some reason saying it makes you 'hateful.'” @Temitopehh added, “Smart and insightful woman.”
