Female police officer spotted a boy lying on the floor in school hallway and crying — her response instantly won the internet

As adults, when life gets too hard to handle, we often wish someone to lend us their ear so we can pour out our feelings and feel okay once again. Similarly, children also need that 'someone' who can get on their level and understand how they are feeling at times. An Indiana cop did just that, quite literally, for a little boy who was having a tough day back in 2016. The boy was lying down on the floor when the cop decided to hear him uniquely. The cop, Precious Cornner-Jones, shared why she did that and why it was crucial to get on a kid's level on such days, per her Facebook post.

Cornner-Jones was lying face down on the floor with the boy in a photo, and explained the context behind it. "While supporting my Pastor Preston T Adams III and some other great men at school 88 yesterday with the High Five Rally, this happened," the cop began. The boy was having a "rough" Monday morning and fell on the floor face down and hid himself. "I saw his mother step back and look. She stated this is how he is expressing himself lately." Cornner-Jones got on his level and talked to him. "He started to cry, so I wiped his tears and told him it would be okay," she recounted.
"As an adult, sometimes all we want is one person to stop, get on our level and maybe wipe our tears," Cornner-Jones expressed. "These children are entitled to bad days just as us, so give them that moment to bring it together." She added, "Get on someone's level today and make them smile! Spread PEACE and LOVE. You might be that person that gives them hope!" The cop immediately noticed that the boy was not in a good mood when he came in, per ABC News. "It wasn't a cop moment. It was a mother moment," the mom of a daughter and two sons shared. She signaled to the boy's mom from across the room that she would "deal with it" and helped the kid.
Many people shared their thoughts on the incident in the comments and appreciated what the cop did for the little boy. Jannifer Danise wrote, "He came in the door not appearing too happy, heck, it was Monday. 12 feet or so into the school, he was lying on the floor. I'm glad to have witnessed your genuine heart for people and children and to see you get down there with him. I could tell he was surprised you came down beside him. Glad I witnessed God's Love in you towards this little guy."
Mara Buddy Cole Bentley commented, "I think that might be a great thing to teach, like a self-assigned time out. Way better than screaming and carrying on." Rachel Perkins remarked, "I saw this earlier today, and I didn't have time to comment...I had to come back to this...And just let you know how much I love this...And how I thought about it several times today. This is very beautiful. I can't express how much I love this... Thanks for all you do!" Sheri S Miller shared, "Pass on to parents! They're the ones who need to know and keep in contact with their children! Parents, please help your children respect, trust and love them! This world needs a better next generation!"
