Many of us tend to forget that our parents were once teenagers, too. They probably went through all the quintessential teenager challenges, had favorite pastimes, music and more that we can't imagine they could have listened to. A 16-year-old girl was similarly surprised when her GenX mom played an explicit song that she listened to as a 14-year-old. The mom, Jennifer McCormick, who goes by @90smusicmomma, on TikTok shared one of her favorite 90s songs with her GenZ daughter and the girl's reaction was priceless.

The mom played Snoop Dogg's "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None)" and her daughter was quite shocked after hearing the explicit lyrics of the song. "My 16-year-old was mortified to find out I was listening to this at 14," the mom wrote in the text overlay of the video. Jennifer was vibing with the song as her daughter cringed and made surprised faces throughout the duration of the video. It seemed as if she couldn't believe that her mom was enjoying the song as she gave side eyes to her. "This is a song that I remember playing at around age 14, riding around in cars with friends, living the carefree 90s life. It's a classic early-90s song!" the mom, who was born in 1980, told Newsweek.

The 1993 song featured Nate Dogg, Kurupt and Warren G, along with Snoop Dogg and was a little hard to listen to for the daughter, Scarlet, in front of her mom. However, the generational shocks are not a new thing in Jennifer's multigenerational household. McCormick revealed, "My daughter is Gen Z and we also have a Gen Alpha son, so we are raising two different generations in one household. My daughter would say they have different parents because we parent them so differently." The mom shared that even though Gen Z has a plethora of music choices, her daughter has mostly been exposed to 90s music she used to listen to.

"This series has been a fun way for her to see what we listened to and it is fun to see her reactions. It makes me question my own parents because I was much younger than her listening to most of the songs!" Jennifer expressed. People shared their thoughts on the mother and daughter's moment in the comments section of the video. @aatb117781 wrote, "Too funny, we had the same argument at our house. My wife said that this music is so vulgar for our daughter and I said, 'Do you remember what we listened to? Que up some 'Too Short.'"

@revlisstyle commented, "I was about 14 and I remember I fell asleep listening to Dr Dre 2001, next thing I know my dad pushes my stereo and pulls the CD out and snaps it in two halves, lol." @tffnyjean remarked, "I rented a double-decker bus for our wedding. I passed my phone with a playlist to the driver and this song started playing for our whole family. I was screaming, wrong playlist!" @kennyjr73 shared, "I was in college when this dropped. My kids ain't shocked by my music though. Their's is almost as wild." @lillytandme expressed, "I used to play this in the car with my mum when I was 15! She never noticed the lyrics."
