Groggy woman wakes up from tonsil surgery and asks about a BBL — leaving doctors completely stunned
Medical procedures can be nerve-wracking until the surgery goes smoothly. However, post-surgery recovery can be disorienting, and patients' reactions can end up being surprisingly amusing. When TikTok user Ashley (@usernamecoxo0) was fresh out of a surgery, she asked for a BBL, which left doctors stunned. Ashley's hilarious video, posted on January 23, 2026, garnered support from internet users who completely agree with her bizarre concern.

Ashley underwent tonsil surgery. However, after the procedure, when the anesthesia started wearing off, she began crying profusely. The video captured by someone showed the person asking what she wanted, to which Ashley lamented that she was upset about the doctors not giving her a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a cosmetic surgery meant to reshape and add volume to the buttocks. When the person filming explained that it was a tonsil surgery, Ashley cried, saying, "Why didn't I get a BBL? I was right here. I wanted a BBL." The person behind the camera struggled to contain her laughter and consoled, "I know, honey, it's okay."
A 2008 study published in ScienceDirect noted that anesthesia leads to postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in some adults. This means that when anesthesia wears off, it affects one's memory and cognition, which influences their inflammatory processes. As Ashley was still under anesthesia and it was wearing off gradually, it may have taken her some time to understand what was going on around her.
Ashley, who posted the video, captioned it, "told everyone they forgot to give me a BBL." When anesthesia hits, even parenthood slips from mind. In another story, a mom, Belle Blake, woke up from anesthesia after a surgery and was shocked to learn she had four kids. While riding back home, her husband captured her reaction as she excitedly said that she had "four babies." When she looked around to not find them in the car, her husband assured her that they were indeed real, but not in the car at that moment. She further asked her husband if they were "gorgeous." Her husband confirmed as she exclaimed how lucky she felt to be a mother of four babies. Reacting with utter surprise that one of her sons was eight years old and that one of her daughters' names was Daphne, the mother kept repeating how she had won the "lottery" after finding out that she had four babies who loved her.
