The 22-year-old explained that a woman near the counter was in the middle of a minor argument with the cashier over an order mix-up when a random man suddenly walked up beside her. In a casual but oddly possessive tone, the man asked, “What’s the issue?” and the whole mood seemed to shift. It was clear that the woman looked uncomfortable. So, wanting to help, he impulsively stepped forward and said, “Yeah, we’ve been waiting for a while.” The accidental use of “we” made it sound like he was with her. Just as he realized he had created a painfully awkward situation, the woman stunned everyone by calmly playing along.
