He resented police after being wrongfully imprisoned—until he risked his life to save one in need

A person's will to forgive might work wonders for them and the people around them. However, one man's situation might have made forgiveness significantly harder for him. The person, Daylan Mclee, was falsely accused of pointing a gun at a cop. He also spent a year in prison before he was cleared of all charges. His encounters with cops after that weren't exactly pleasant either. But when Mclee noticed a cop inside a burning car while going somewhere, he surprised everyone with his actions, per CBS Evening News.

The man was acquitted by a jury after being falsely accused of pointing a gun at a cop. He had to spend a year in prison before being cleared of charges. Even after getting out, the man was often stopped in traffic without any violation of the rules multiple times. So eventually, Mclee wasn't exactly thrilled about interacting with cops and would prefer going the other way if he ever saw one on the street. But one fine day, the Pennsylvania man rushed to a street corner after hearing a massive crash. "It was a lot of chaos. I get chills when I think of it." A police car had been in a traffic accident that had caused a gas leak in the vehicle. It was surrounded by flames, trapping the officer inside the car.

Another cop rushed to help the officer stuck inside, but the car's door simply wouldn't open. Mclee came in to help at that time, without thinking much. "I don't know how I got the door open. Grabbed him out." The officer who was stuck inside, Jay Henley, was also surprised by how the man managed to take the door out to save him. "It's amazing when there's true love in people and they can get you out of something like that, no matter who you are and where you have come from." He added, "There should be more people like that." Mclee also went to meet the officer and check if he was recovering well from his injuries. The man gave Henley a big hug and wished him well.
Even the officer's wife gave Mclee a big hug to show her gratitude to the man for saving her husband. "I am waiting for you to get back out there," Mclee told the officer. Henley really appreciated the sentiment, on the other hand. "We are all just people. When we start realizing that, things should start getting better," Mclee pointed out. People appreciated the man's ability to forgive in the comments section of the video. @stymied3506 wrote, "God bless that wonderful man for putting aside all his anger and saving another human. The cop couldn't say it better. We absolutely need more people like him 100%."
@rymcghee2523 commented, "The way that wife ran out to hug him so hard, we all know how much of an impact he made on that family!" @balcorn2911 remarked, "He didn't let his mistreatment by police change him into the person they made him out to be. That's a powerful thing right there." @brt5273 shared, "A testament to Humanity. Let's hope the officer takes that experience with him when he returns to duty and helps change things for the better."
