Her daughter was left in pain after scooter crash — then Ring camera revealed a stranger's unexpected act of kindness

A stranger is being praised for her kindhearted response towards a teenage girl, Audrey, who met with an accident on her bike, per East Idaho News. The woman was identified as Michelle Marie Skidmore, owner of Soda Tsumani in Idaho Falls. In a post by Audrey’s mom, Annabelle Henry, Michelle swooped into action after she saw the girl fall from her bike. The family’s Ring camera captured the woman making her way with the 15-year-old toward their door. Annabelle is ever grateful for Michelle’s kind nature and readiness to help. The woman also received a surprise reward for her astute and humane actions.

Audrey was riding her bike and turned onto the sidewalk, per KSL News. Unfortunately, two mailboxes were obstructing the lane and as the teenager turned to get through, her poncho got caught in her wheel and threw her off the bike. Michelle spotted Audrey fall and rushed to her assistance. "It really wasn't a second thought; it was just instinct. I just pulled over. I feel like that's just what people do," she said. Audrey hit her head when she fell to the ground and had minor injuries. Without a second thought, Michelle offered to put her bike into her car and drive the girl home safely.

"(I offered her a ride and) she said that would be nice,” the woman recalled. She even asked if Audrey wanted to call her mom or needed other help. The 15-year-old told her that she knew better than to get into cars with strangers but could trust Michelle, given the situation. Despite being complete strangers to each other, Michelle was able to strike up a conversation with the girl. “We shared stories of our crashes together, so I feel like we're kindred spirits and both kind of lutz on two-wheeled things," she added. The video captured the woman eventually getting the girl to her doorstep, safe and sound.

Annabelle recalled that her daughter was a little dazed and took a while before she could recount Michelle’s kind help. In the Ring camera video, the mom spotted Michelle giving Audrey a hug before she left. "I was overcome with emotion. As a mom, there's nothing more heartwarming than seeing someone treat your child with kindness when they need it most. I truly can't express how thankful I am for Michelle's compassion," Annabelle noted. She shared a post on Facebook, publicly thanking the stranger and hoping to find her identity.
She posted glimpses from the Ring camera and wrote, “Thank you so much for taking care of my baby and getting her home safely. You are an absolutely wonderful and kind individual who I am beyond grateful for.” She further thanked her for being the reason for optimism and hope. “Thank you for stopping and helping her. Thank you for being a safe place for a stranger in this crazy world. I hope you see this and know how big this act of kindness meant to me, my daughter, and our family,” the mom remarked. To her surprise, people passed on the post enough for her to be able to identify the woman. Michelle was nominated for the Feel Good Friday segment by East Idaho News and was rewarded with thanks and gift cards from Ashley Home Store.
