Judge Caprio was stunned to learn mom in court for red light ticket had been shot 2 days ago. His verdict was unbelievable

Some people show surprising amounts of strength in the face of adversity. A mom who had been shot in the leg appeared in court for a parking ticket a couple of days after the incident. She explained what had happened to her and why she ended up with a parking ticket. Judge Frank Caprio was stunned after knowing the details of her story. He came up with his verdict and appreciated the woman for her remarkable strength and courage, per a YouTube video by Caught In Providence.

The judge asked the woman if she was Angel Mendoza as she entered the place. She clarified that she was Jacqueline Rodriguez, but she was the one using the vehicle that day. "I am trying to accommodate you, Inspector Quinn tells me that you have a gunshot wound in your leg," Caprio remarked. Rodriguez confirmed that she had been shot about 2-3 days ago and had to go back and forth to the hospital because she still had the bullet in her body. "I was walking by the park and they didn't know what kind of gunshot it was," she explained. The doctors told her that they couldn't take it out because it might cause more damage to her leg. The judge asked her if she would get to the point of walking from limping.
"Yeah, I definitely will, your honor, because I got four kids," Rodriguez shared. She was at the court that day because of her kids, too. The woman was waiting for her kids outside their school and she had parked her car outside as her baby lives off of oxygen. "So I had to carry the oxygen out for my son inside the house and I left the car parked right there." She went on, "By the time I came out, I already had the ticket." She thought that it wouldn't be an issue as her car was in front of the house and they would leave in an hour, but they still got a ticket. It was also her father-in-law's vehicle, so the woman had to be "responsible."
The judge wondered how Rodriguez was shot and she revealed that she was getting out of work at 11:30 at night when she got shot. She worked from 6 in the evening to midnight and had gotten out of work a little early that night to catch the Cranston Bus. There were kids in the park and she heard some noise as the shots rang. "I was running and the next thing I know, I was limping on one leg." The woman shared that she was just a "random person walking by" who was not supposed to be the "victim." Rodriguez continued, "I was at the wrong place at the wrong time." The judge felt that the woman was "remarkable" for responding to a parking ticket when she had a gunshot wound, for no fault of hers. "I am dismissing this ticket," Judge Caprio said as he gave the verdict.
The woman was really grateful for that and the judge only had praise for her and her "respect for the law and order." People shared their thoughts in the comments section of the video. @myrellasamuels3513 wrote, "This lady is coming clean about her ticket and this judge is stuck on her getting shot. I love that he’s a human first." @lissiet22 commented, "Poor lady. I can't believe she has to pay for oxygen for her son, it's so wrong." @DeconvertedMan remarked, "Sometimes you wish the court could help out people who have such stories and things."
