Toddlers are known for their honesty, as ruthless and hysterical as it can be. Their truth can cut right through your heart and make you question things in a way you never dared before. Toddler Abe, too, was brutally honest about his mom Ricki Weisburg’s sandwich when he returned from his first day of school at kindergarten. The mom shared a video on TikTok of the boy getting off the bus after his first day at school. While she expected some excitement or comment about his school and friends, she instead received savage and straightforward feedback on the butter and jelly sandwich she’d made her son. In one statement, little Abe caught the mom off guard and had us in stitches.

The video captured the little boy getting off the bus and walking over to his mum, who excitedly was recording him. “Hey, you did it!” the mom said to him on his first day of school. However, Abe wasn’t concerned about the particular achievement. He was focused on letting his mom know the truth. So, in all honesty, before he could say anything else, he made the most dissatisfied face and said, “Mommy? Terrible sandwich, by the way.” Speechless at his sudden and blatant remark, the mom replied, “Thanks for letting me know.” “Really terrible,” he added. Weisberg reacted well based on the situation, giving her son the space to be honest and comfortable with such things.

Reviewing the scene a few years later, the mother-son duo, both agree that the sandwich wasn’t up to the mark, per Good Morning America. "I normally give him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but he couldn't bring peanut butter to school for kids' allergies. So I had this idea like I'll give him a butter and jelly sandwich," Weisberg confessed. However, that didn’t work out well, clearly! The mom thought she aced her duty of making a good meal for her boy and believed he’d enjoy the improvisation. But it didn't happen. “I took a bite of it and it tasted ... I knew what butter tasted like and it didn't taste like what butter tastes like," he recalled.

Weisberg recalled leaving early from work on Abe’s first day so she could greet him and be there. She expected him to be chirpy and proud that he’d made it through his first day at school. "I was quite surprised when he hit me with that savage sandwich review,” she said. The mom was sure to note that she agreed with his honest comment. “It (the sandwich) was terrible. I’ve never made him a butter and jelly sandwich after that,” she humorously highlighted.

"One of the best parts about Abe is that he's taught me to take myself less seriously,” Weisberg noted. She suggested all moms consider her experience and take it easy on themselves. "I just encourage everyone to build that level of trust with your kids so they can be brutally honest with you - because it makes it more fun,” she remarked. Undoubtedly, people had too much fun decoding Abe’s expressions and taking in the review.@fisherbk wrote, “I love that his brain said, ‘Must address subpar cuisine right when you see her. Do not forget!'” @spottieottiedopalicious noted, “Little Gordon Ramsey. ‘Do better!’ Yes Chef.’”
