Children with autism have a different attention span and function differently based on it.  Though it can be difficult to be different, these children always act from their hearts. Only the processing might be a little vague. However, their intentions are always pure. A mom named Anastasia (@annastasiaramcas5) revealed that her daughter who has autism also functions in a similar manner. She shared a video of the little girl’s dance recital performance, where her autism got the best of her. However, her partner dancing with her rquickly improvised in such a way that the mom couldn’t help but praise and thank her.

Many autistic children have the habit of stimming. The latter refers to a self-stimulatory behavior that helps them manage and express their bout of energy, per NHS Leicestershire Partnership. This often causes them to make noises or movements that may seem unusual or random. The little girl began stimming while performing with her partner on stage. The duo were in tutus and were doing a graceful dance when Annastasia’s daughter abruptly changed her dance moves. She suddenly moved her hands from her hips and within no time, was waving them around and jumping on stage.

In a matter of seconds, her partner figured something was wrong. She didn’t understand stimming and what was happening but had a graceful response. Since the duo’s steps were the same and coordinated, as soon as the autistic girl began stimming and jumping, the other tiny tot observed and simply joined her. The mom’s footage captured the duo jumping and waving their hands without care. The girl not only accepted her partner’s stimming but also joined her so she didn’t feel awkward or look absurd on stage. She casually joined her and made it look like the duo were just having fun while performing. She clearly dealt with the situation in the best way possible.

“Thank you to the little girl who continued to dance with my daughter even though she was stimming,” the mom wrote. Several parents and others were in awe of the end result of the situation. Many applauded the girl for being understanding even in her lack of understanding. Others with autistic children shared how the gesture and acceptance mean so much to them. @animavestra111 said, “I love it when kids join my son when he’s stimming. When we are leaving, he always says, 'Mommy, they’re just like me.’” @crotchacha added, “They both felt included, even if it was for two completely different reasons.”

@im_itchy added, “This is why I love kids. One of my students was sitting on the floor and stimming and one of my other kids sat down and joined in.” @lifewkjay remarked, “As a therapist who works with children who have autism, this melts my heart. To be seen is to be loved.” @baspense noted, “I can’t even tell which baby is stimming. They are just having fun and it makes me so happy I want to jump around too.” @pix0851 said, “Children are so accepting and beautiful. Grown-ups can learn big lessons from them. Both girls did an amazing job.”
