The coworker was quiet, avoided eye contact, and rarely spoke unless someone addressed him. Knowing he enjoyed gaming and books, Jason began asking about them during lunch breaks and continued doing so each day. Their friendship grew through regular conversations, social events, and shared interests. At a large holiday party, the colleague brought his mother along. While her son was away, she revealed something that left the man emotional: he had spent years at the company without making a single friend.
