911 dispatchers handle unbelievable emergencies. But now and then, a call leaves even experienced responders stunned. An emergency responder named Allister Marie, who goes by @allistersreads, recalled one such incident when a father desperately made a 911 call and informed the dispatcher about a snake eating his "baby." The operator was unsure whether the man was referring to an infant or his pet when he called it "his baby." However, when the first responders were sent to his home, they were horrified to see what the snake was attacking. On June 24, 2026, Marie shared how the incident shocked the entire department.

@allistermarie PLEASE READ: I want to apologize & retract my statement about snakes stalking prey & not eating! I should have done better research & due-diligence, & was wrong, but have been better educated. This situation still 100% happened though & can be found with old news articles & info with a simple google search. I relayed the ACTUAL CALL DETAILS from the person who handled it & the people there! Not a 3rd party news story, the actual CALL! It’s a crazy story, but it came down to owner negligence not the snake. From the brief conversation with the man, the 911 dispatcher was unable to obtain many details; however, they quickly classified the call as a high-priority emergency, and first responders were immediately dispatched to the location. What they found inside was not what they had expected. The rescuers found a 13-year-old lying in her bed as a giant python had swallowed her from her feet to nearly her chest. As it turned out, the family owned the snake, which was kept inside a small container in the daughter's room. According to Marie, the snake had been watching the girl for days and had also stopped eating before the attack. Fortunately, the girl was rescued, although the snake did not survive.

According to research conducted by the University of Melbourne, some snakes are capable of surviving for as long as two years without food. Snakes, such as pythons, are ambush predators that spend long periods waiting in one location. Since their bodies can store large energy reserves, staying still does not require much energy. Once they find large prey, they instantly strike. Marie said the pet owner was blamed for the incident due to negligence.

Marie's video garnered significant attention from internet users who were astonished by the story. @EstanciasConEstilo wrote, "Ok, so I have always been scared of snakes, and everyone has always told me it is irrational! You have proven that, in fact, it is not irrational." @apple.jaxx commented, "I hope she's okay, but she's going to be the world winner for two truths and a lie because who would believe that? I mean, I believe it, but holy cow." @Alex Sanchez wrote, "My officers always let me know what happened with my calls; however, we have a small department here."
