Man gets all his paperwork his mom had been keeping for him — then a missing poster with his photo leaves him stunned

It’s chilling how secrets from decades can be discovered abruptly out of the blue. What do you do when you find out your mum has possibly been keeping a life-changing secret from you for the last few decades? Adrian Peru (@adrian_peru) revealed that he was stunned after encountering something unusual while browsing his documents. The man was recently handed over his papers by his mum since he was “old enough” to manage them. However, to his surprise, he came across a flyer with his childhood picture that opened a truckload of curiosity. 

The man mentioned that he was looking to get a passport and was going through his pictures. He stumbled upon a “Missing” poster that had a huge picture of his childhood self. It read, “Please help. Jorge Gimenez went missing October 12, 2005.” There were other details and specifications mentioned along with the message, “Come home soon Jorge. We all love you and want you home safe.” Peru was weirded out on reading what was before his eyes. “When the f**k did I go missing? And why was I never told?” he asked. He also revealed a poster which had a few things cut out from it. 

The cutout portion had a text printed beside it that mentioned the block was to be cut out only if a child went missing. “When did I go missing?” Peru repeatedly asked. He further inspected the missing poster and remarked, “Jorge Gimenez? That is not my name. I don’t know if they, like, made this as a joke when I was a kid. But who is Jorge Gimenez?” he asked, still confused and speechless. “Cause, why is this in the middle of all my paperwork? I never went missing,” he added. Leaving several others as stunned as he was, the man finally approached his mum and got an answer. In a follow-up video, he revealed he had a 30-minute conversation with his mum. 

He explained that it had been a misunderstanding and that a photo of him was accidentally put in the missing poster of a boy named Jorge Gimenez. “I’ve never been kidnapped. I’ve never gone through that, like. Y’all can chill. I feel bad for the kid but that’s my photo. My mom said that they posted my photo, and she took them down,” Peru explained. He added that it could also be that child traffickers or a scam group may have gotten hold of the picture and printed out fake posters for kidnapping as was back in the time. Apart from this bit, he even mentioned that he conversed with his mom who helped him clearly understand what happened, clearing his confusion.

In the end, it was concluded that it was nothing but an awkwardly chucklesome misunderstanding. The man was glad to know that he had no funny or unusual family history and that he was presumably saved from a potential kidnapping. Several people took the same in a light-hearted manner. @helem1 said, “Why would your mom keep that in the documents!?” @chinajones remarked, “The math ain’t matching, Jorge.”
