Man simply refusing to fathom how Harvard’s financial aid program works is the funniest thread you'll read today
Getting reasonable financial aid from a college can enable a student to pursue their academic interest without trammeling their family’s income with skyrocketing fees. Recognized for its academic excellence, Harvard is one of the universities that offer decent opportunities in financial aid. Nearly 24% of the students pay next to nothing to get admission into this Ivy League university. One woman, who goes as @xgigglypuff on X, received a fully-funded diploma scholarship and received extra money from the institution as well. She took to X to share her excitement. In the comments, the woman noticed that a man, who goes by Brother Jacobus (@ManleeChad) on X, seemed confused by what she shared about the university's financial aid. In a recent post, Giggly posted some screengrabs of his flabbergasting comments, and people are rolling their eyes in hysteria at how hard it is to make Jacobus understand Harvard's financial aid program.
“Accidentally discovered a guy in my comments that cannot fathom how Harvard’s financial aid program works and is just insulting anyone that explains it to him,” Giggly wrote in the post, while also sharing the link to the earlier post from the screengrabs, in a comment. According to the post in question, when Giggly shared details about Harvard University fully funding her diploma, the stranger on the internet, Jacobus, raised a query, “How did you get a free ride when nobody else does.” Giggly, who thought it was her responsibility to get the concept right for Jacobus, explained, “Lots of people do. In this year, any student who gets admitted and then has a family income of less than $85,000 per year will receive a full ride.”
HARVARD FINANCIAL AID GIVES YOU A FULL RIDE IF YOU ARE ACCEPTED AND HAVE A FAMILY INCOME OF LESS THAN $85K PER YEAR

I spread this around as often as I can because it could change the life of another smart, low-income student like myself.

Harvard’s website states that its need-based financial aid allows families with incomes between $85,000 and $150,000 to contribute only 0-10% of their income. However, Jacobus just refused to understand that this aid is valid only for those students who get admission into Harvard. “I never get such considerations, my question is why,” he wrote in another comment.
A user named @elaifresh, like many others, stepped in and tried to explain, “Because you didn’t get admitted, man." But it seems the stubborn man didn’t grasp the entirety of the situation. He went on to brag that he had three college degrees from three different colleges, but still, he didn’t get any free education like Giggly. Jacobus just couldn't understand the basic fact and kept insulting people who tried to help him. People reading his responses shook their heads in bewilderment, unable to cope with the challenge of explaining the situation to him.
The man kept on blabbering about how a vast majority of students don’t get such free-funded programs even though their family income is much less than $85,000. Annoyed, @elaifresh again commented, “You. Have. To. Get. Accepted. First.” The man went on to say that every single student is admitted to college, not realizing that every student getting a college admission doesn't mean they would also get financial aid at Harvard. You only get that when you get accepted into Harvard - as simple as that. But Jacobus kept writing about the issue of student loans and poor families and on and on.

Reading the brainrot conversation, people said talking to Jacobus sounded like talking to a brick wall. @lshep86 said, “Brother @elaifresh was talking to a brick wall. It’s crazy that a lot of things people are upset about can be defused by 30 seconds of internet searching.” “Reading this actually stressed me out... there’s no way he’s serious,” wrote @_lesbiannie_.
