Thrifting can be a great way to find something nice at surprisingly low prices. A man experienced that personally when he thrifted an Italian glass flower coffee table for $120 at Facebook Marketplace. He checked the actual value of the piece online and was stunned after finding out its real price. The man, u/tlrwlls, shared the pictures of the coffee table and its online price with Reddit and many people on the internet agreed that it was an absolute steal.

"Paid $120 for this coffee table and found it online for WAY more," the caption read. The coffee table was entirely glass with metal legs and had four flower petals. The price of the table was $8,430 on one of the websites. Another website called it "Postmodern Italian Flower Glass Coffee Table 1990s Glas Italia." It was worth $2,250 on this website and $6,107 on a third one. In one of the comments, the person shared that they could find the piece because they spend a lot of time on Facebook Marketplace. The table was found there, too and not in an actual thrift store, according to another update.

Many people shared their thoughts on the purchase in the comments section of the thread. u/hotdogwaterbab wrote, "Honestly, I LOVE thrifting and like to think I’m a pretty overall empathetic and supportive person. But the amount of jealousy or strong desires to thrift immediately I get from the POSTS IN THIS GODDAMN SUB are unhealthy, haha. I do not need a new coffee table, but am I going to go obsessively thrift for one now? Of course I am. I need to unsubscribe for my mental well-being and financial stability at this point. Y’all are too damn good at this!" u/Ordinary_Nobody_4527 commented, "I had those mirrors too and never knew what to do with them because I couldn’t hang them. They look great like that! I love your place and the whole vibe! But that table is out of this world! Kudos on your find!"

u/StoreNo667 remarked, "What's better about this amazing find is that I'd bet anything that it looks way better in your beautiful room than any rich person's attempt at having character in their lame a** mansion." u/Sea-Marionberry2614 shared, "People will pay way too much for something they feel is 'expensive' if they have cash to burn! Just ask anyone, 'How much would you pay for this glass flower coffee table?' The average from those answers is the price you should pay!" u/peppermintmeow expressed, "I can't be jealous. It works perfectly in your space. The universe destined for it to be yours!"

A man from California had similar luck when he thrifted a pair of Nike shoes. The man bought the pair for $38 because he really liked them, but he didn't know what their actual value was. So, he was surprised to find out that they cost way more online. "I just found a pair of Dunk High Varsity Maizes, which resell for $500-$1000, in my size for $38 at my local thrift store," the person, William Ponsetti, who goes by u/Weekly-Knowledge9208 on Reddit, wrote. He planned to wear them if he couldn't find a good price online.
