Man woke up to noise of 'someone talking loudly' at 3 AM — started laughing when he saw where it was coming from

The last thing you want when you’re home alone is to wake up to a voice or sound from the other rooms. Being alone and having to check up on the noise in the middle of the night is quite the horror. A man named Liam Maguire (@liamtmaguire) faced a similar scare when he had to check where a strange noise was coming from at 3 am. However, when he got his courage up and checked it out, he was hysterically dumbfounded.

Maguire was fast asleep in his room when he felt he heard “someone talk loudly in my house.” He was initially “terrified,” per Newsweek. However, he tried to reconsider what the noise might be. “I live in a busy area. So I woke up thinking someone was yelling in the street, maybe because I was quite disorientated,” he recalled. Despite trying to convince himself, something felt off and the noise was still loud and clear. It felt like it was particularly coming from his hallway. He mustered all his courage to get out of bed and his room and walk through the dark passage towards his hall.
With no lights and a rather quiet and still atmosphere apart from the “noise,” Maguire wondered what to expect. As soon as he got to his hall, he came across the source of the noise — his black cat sitting on the couch. “When I came out and saw my cat, I honestly started laughing," he said. The feline was busy watching TV after seemingly switching it on. Perhaps the furry thing wanted some entertainment and pressed a button. It was focused on watching a workout video with the demonstrators explaining how to exercise. However, Maguire’s sudden and slow appearance likely startled the feline and it was interrupted.

The cat quickly gave him a deadly stare as if it was upset that the man disturbed its entertainment time. “I filmed it to show my housemates but only rewatched it in the morning. It was only at that point I even realized she was watching some kind of workout video,” Maguire added. Surely, no one would have believed the man without the evidence. What grabbed the attention of many was the solid expression the cat elicited after the man interrupted his watching time. @assassincurse said, “The way the cat looks at you as if to say, ‘Shouldn’t you be in bed?’” @itszaynaa added, “The cat said, ‘Can I help you with something?’”

@britt.ahl noted, “Not him acting like he pays the rent and you disturbed him." Several others shared similar frightening experiences with their pets. @butterflymama9002 recalled, “My cat pressed my garage door open and I thought I was being robbed. That was the end of it, I hid for a good hour after that.” @iammarchrs said, “This happened to me too and I’m not even joking, my cat was watching Dictatorship on Netflix.”
