Take a trip down memory lane with this incredibe video of what it was like to be a teen in the 90s

Looking at today’s younger generations, millennials and other age groups are nostalgically taking a trip down memory lane, reminiscing what life was like. While Gen Z and younger people are enjoying their teenage years and 20s in an avid fashion, millennials had things very different. Being young and full of possibilities back in the 90s, the now adults are recalling what their teenage years were like. A video with the spotlight on memories from the 90s was shared by @my90sthings on TikTok and millennials can’t help but relate to its accuracy. Starting with the foremost aspect that strikes many, the 90s had one priceless aspect- safety. Being with friends, at parties, events and more, teenagers could roam freely with no worries. Up next were the house parties. “Our house parties will never be rivaled,” the text overlay read. Though simple, house parties back in the 90s were cool and trendy for their time. Pop music, homemade snacks, simple drinks, jazzy haircuts and attire are all treasured deeply in the hearts of many millennials. Another gem of an aspect the older generations hold is the lack of filters and editing. The 90s enjoyed the mere idea of capturing moments. Their films, polaroids and other equipment have the raw moments in their most authentic and realistic display.

Recalling some of the other technology from the 90s, one can’t help but appreciate how simple yet treasured each item was. Gifts weren’t grand, expensive or aesthetic. While many teenagers’ gifts today include ready-made branded items, a burned CD with favorite pieces was a prized possession in the 90s. Recording and creating of memories was done with disposable cameras, and group pictures, capturing special moments rather than documenting everything 24/7. Another factor millennials cherish is their freedom. Not just from the world but from the internet and social media.

“The only time we were online was in front of our computers,” the text read. The rest of the time was wholesomely spent with friends in person, watching the box TV, flipping through magazines, getting cutouts of celebrity crushes and more. What more can we say about the 90s? But how can we talk about the 90s without talking about entertainment? With some of the best music, movies, games and more, enjoying with friends was a heartfelt experience altogether. Every millennial will recall running over to a friend’s house to catch a movie!

“When our phones died there was no way to get a hold of us,” the text read. And that was no concern! Finding the way home through routes instead of online maps, hanging out with friends daily and the eager joy to call back after the mobile was free are all priceless moments engraved in the heart of every millennial. @moviebeard exclaimed, “I remember having my whole wall covered with pictures of people I liked. 15 years later, I’m taking them down. Good memories.” @treeoflife1000 said, “We have to find a way to bring the 80s and 90s back. I miss those days so much!” @musiclegend303 added, “The 90s was the best time ever, please take me back!”
