Mom recorded her young son asking her new husband if he could call him ‘dad’ — nothing prepared her for the response that followed
Earning a kid's love and respect can mean a lot to an adult. Hence, a man's emotional response seemed valid when his stepson decided to ask him if he could call him dad. The little boy, Timmy, also asked his mom if he could put forth the question on his own, without any help from her. The mom, Kole Quinn, agreed to that and reassured the nervous child that things were going to be alright. She also set up a camera to record the precious moment. Quinn posted the video on TikTok, where she goes by @kolequinn. The brief clip has received over 157,100 views.
"I'll let you tell him whatever you've got to tell him, okay, Timmy. This is your thing," Quinn told her son as the video began. She talked to her son for a brief moment before she left the room. Just a minute later, the boy's stepdad entered the room and greeted him. "I want to call you dad," Timmy said in a quiet voice. "You want to call me dad?" the man confirmed and supported himself on the edge of the bed. He was really emotional and told the boy that he could, of course, call him dad. "Of course you can, bud. I love you, buddy," the man expressed. The boy came forward and gave him a big hug and said, "I love you too, my dad."
They patted each other's heads as the man left the room. Immediately after that, the boy got off the bed and started dancing out of pure joy. He relayed the news to his mom and gave her a hug as well. The woman was really happy that her husband and son could share such a moment. "Are you happy that we have a little family?" the mom questioned. Timmy wholeheartedly agreed to that. "Timmy asked to call my husband, his dad... and he was really nervous about it, but asked if he could do it alone," the caption read. "I had to record it, such a precious moment."
