Mom was terrified about two young daughters going through critical surgeries—the hospital's response left her speechless
Many siblings stick with each other through thick and thin. Two sisters got a chance to do that for each other when they went through surgeries at the same time. Initially, their mom was terrified because both her daughters, Nora and Lily, were about to get surgery for individual problems they had been facing. The mom, Haley, was really worried about her girls waking up alone and scared at the hospital. But then the doctor came up with a solution that allowed the girls to be there for each other, per a video by the mom, who goes by @hales1537 on TikTok. The video received over 847,600 views.
"When two of your daughters have surgery on the same day and all they wanted was each other," the text overlay of the video read. In the clip, the parents brought in a crying Nora inside a hospital room, so she could lie next to her sister. "She wants to lie with you. She wanted her sissy so bad," the mom told Lily as the parents helped Nora sleep beside her sister. "I love you," Nora told her sister. On the other hand, Lily couldn't talk very well at that time because of her surgery. "Get a warm blankie," Haley pointed out, as the girls calmed down a little. People appreciated the sweet moment between the sisters in the comments section of the video.

@Baby_girl_86 wrote, "Love this, my daughter was in a bad car accident and didn't see her siblings for two months. Her health started going downhill and the doctor said, 'Get your kids up here now, every day.' They came and she healed more! Sibling love is real!" @lilu_pooka commented, "When I had my hernia surgery at age 26, my sister was a nurse at the hospital I went to. I came out of anesthesia crying for her. They had to go find her just to calm me down. I don't remember, but she thought it was funny."
@megoo_boo remarked, "I had my tonsillectomy when I was in second grade. I just wanted my family, too. I hope their recovery goes smoothly and they enjoy their ice cream time! Sending well wishes!" @dudeitsveronica shared, "When my cousin was battling brain cancer (he was eight, I was seven), the hospital ended up allowing me up there with him because we both were having such a hard time. We had grown up like siblings, so that much time apart from each other was rough on both of us. Thankfully, he beat cancer." @andreathomas777 expressed, "I had a really bad accident years ago and when I woke up in the ICU, the first thing I said was, 'Where’s my sister? I need my sister.' I hope they continue to share this beautiful bond."
In another post, Haley shared that the girls, Nora and Lily, were seven and six years old, respectively. Lily had to go through a tonsillectomy and adenoid removal, while Nora had adenoid removal and tubes were placed in her ears because of her hearing loss. They had surgery on the same day because the doctors and the surgical team felt that it would be best for them to recover together. She shared that the two girls were "best friends." It was hard on the mom and dad, but they were able to get through it together and the girls were recovering well. Initially, the mom found the idea of one of the girls waking up alone and scared really frightening, per Newsweek. But the hospital staff helped them get through it.
