Pizza delivery driver rang doorbell but heard only a dog barking inside—his intuition saved an elderly customer's life
Your actions might end up making you a saviour in other people's lives. A daughter felt just that for a pizza delivery driver who saved her mom's life. The Warren man, Aamir Ali, was out on a regular work day and was about to deliver pizza for the mom when he noticed that something was off. The lights inside the house were on, but nobody was answering the door. But instead of leaving the food at the door, Ali tried his best to ensure that everything was alright with the woman, per WXYZ.
Ali called the number attached to the order, and the woman's daughter, Danielle Ratliff, answered the phone. Ratliff was in Seattle at that time and had ordered a pizza for her mom, per the outlet. "It's a wonderful thing too when you're so far away and you can't do everything on your own to have someone that doesn't know anything just stick around," the daughter remarked. She pointed out that not opening the door was not a usual thing for her mom, and Ali decided to stay on and help. He peeped through the window with Ratliff's permission and noticed that the dog was barking and the woman was lying unconscious on the floor.
She couldn't move at all, so the delivery driver called 911 to get help for her. "If it wasn't for him, we don't know what could've happened. He saved her, honestly," Megan Rose, the mom's next-door neighbor, pointed out. On the other hand, Ali humbly responded, "I'm just glad to be at the right place at the right time — that's it." The man also went back to the woman's house to ensure that her dog was taken care of and took Rose's help to do just that. He realized that some of her belongings had been left behind, so Ali also made another trip to the hospital. "So not only did he come back three times, but he then went to the hospital and brought her all her belongings," Rose recounted.
In return for all of it, Ali just hoped that if something were to happen to his loved ones, someone would be there for them the way he was there for the woman. "I hope and I pray that if something like this happens to one of my loved ones, someone else is there for them." Ratliff shared that her mom was making good progress at a local hospital and the family considered the man a "real-life angel" for all the help he bestowed upon them. "Thank you for being such a kind and wonderful person," Rose added. People applauded the man for going above and beyond the call of duty in the comments section of the video.
