School called mom about an 'accident' after her weak-bladder daughter was denied a restroom break — the teacher’s response stunned the parent
It's not uncommon for teachers to deny students' requests to use the restroom between classes, citing potential disruptions. TikTok user Janasia Jovani (@janasiajovani) revealed that her 8-year-old daughter suffers from a weak bladder, prompting her to limit her daughter’s liquid intake. Jovani once received a call from her daughter's school after she peed herself when denied a restroom break. When the parent spoke to the daughter, she was shocked to learn about her teacher's enraged response. Sharing the story with her TikTok followers on October 17, 2025, the mother expressed disappointment over the teacher’s passive-aggressive reaction.

When her daughter was refused the restroom a few days ago, Jovani emailed the teacher requesting an exception due to her daughter’s condition. But the teacher informed her that the principal had decided to limit students from using the restroom. Jovani, understanding the teacher’s concern about classes being disrupted by frequent restroom breaks, let it slide. However, this time, when she arrived at the school after her daughter peed herself, she discovered that the teacher had still denied her daughter’s request and allegedly told the girl to stop being "dramatic" when she cried out of embarrassment.
During her work shift, the teacher called to inform Jovani that her daughter had an “accident.” Although she knew that her daughter's bladder was weak, she suspected something fishy. Upon arriving at the school, she learned from her daughter that the teacher had denied her permission to use the restroom until she finished her work. Even after submitting the work, the teacher further refused, requiring the child to wait until the work was checked.
The child was then asked to seek permission from the main teacher, and Jovani noted that it is extremely dangerous for a child with a weak bladder to hold it for more than 12 minutes. However, once the kid was allowed, she peed herself before reaching the restroom. When the teacher was informed and taken to the restroom, the little girl began crying, to which the teacher asked her to stop with "the dramatics." After the nurse finished dressing her, the teacher demanded she check her clothes, suspecting the child of "lying." When her daughter returned to class, the teacher added, "I don't want you getting up during the instructions, you're a smart girl, right?"
Later, the little girl overheard the teacher muttering, "Her mom could email me all she wants." The mother expressed the frustration at the teacher's passive-aggressive tone and wrote, "This mother is fed up." Soon after her video went viral, many users sided with the mother. @supahot92 noted, "A school limiting water intake of children to keep them out of the bathroom is kinda wild, right? Or am I crazy?" @Ressie mentioned, "My daughter has this issue. I told her 'Get up and go anyway! Let them call me.' You're not going to have my child have an accident and be made fun of." @Michelleruns remarked, "I wouldn't even want my daughter back in that woman's class. She’s not caring for your daughter as she should be."
