She feared a trafficking trap after hearing strange noises from a parked bus — but the truth inside left everyone stunned
In a world where safety is compromised on different levels, it is important to approach unusual situations smartly and cautiously. TikTok user Sara Finfrock shared a terrifying experience she came across while heading to the gym with a friend. The woman posted the same on May 8, 2026, under her handle @sarafinnay, revealing how she stopped to intervene when she heard strange noises coming from the luggage compartment of a bus. Fearing the worst, she responded astutely but carefully. Reported by PEOPLE on Monday, June 1, 2026, she explained what was wrong and how she dealt with the scenario.
The sounds eventually led Finfrock and her friend directly to the storage area on the bus. "I was a little hesitant to open it because I wasn't sure if it was a trafficking scam or something," she recalled. They quickly analyzed the situation and decided to lift the door carefully. The person trapped inside was a bus driver named Heather Ann, who had accidentally locked herself in the cargo hold during a lunch break. The relieved employee later elaborated that she had been resting inside and accidentally pulled the door down while getting up. According to the woman, the worker appeared grateful and somewhat shaken after being rescued.
The story took another amusing turn when the bus driver herself appeared in the comments section. She wrote, "Thank you again! It's me [I'm] the idiot that got myself locked in there." Finfrock replied that she was glad the woman was okay. Ann revealed other details about the incident to clarify things with viewers. She even noted that she didn't have her phone on her at the time, and the only option was to cry out for help. She went on to share that though she felt like she had been trapped "forever," she must have been inside for around 10 minutes. During the time, she wasn't asleep but had just been lying down before she could get back on duty.
Several commenters were puzzled by the fact that she came out without shoes. In response, she explained that she had removed them while relaxing and did not have them with her when the compartment was opened. Overall, since Ann was fine, the accident was taken lightheartedly by the driver and the viewers, too. @monetizedlife joked, "She's too calm, I would panic if I locked myself in there." @juforeternity commented, "New fear unlocked, but I don’t own a bus, and I’m never taking a break there." @mizholliwood_ mentioned, "So glad you guys helped her!" @siccck0ne added, "You literally just saved her life."
