Trigger Warning: This article contains subtle themes of abuse and trafficking that some users might find distressing.

The common phrase “If you see something, say something” is crucial in today’s world, where safety is not guaranteed. A TikTok user named Katherine, who goes by @katherineveronica_, shared a post on June 18, 2026, revealing how she refused to be a silent spectator when she witnessed something unusual during her break from work. After seeing a man slyly stuff a note into another woman’s gas tank, she was left confused and worried. She went the extra mile to locate the owner and inform her, and didn’t sit quietly until she learned the truth.

Katherine was in the parking lot when she saw what unfolded. The man drove his pickup truck and parked in a corner to wait and see when the person came out. To her, it felt like he had dangerous intentions, possibly even sex trafficking. She waited, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stranger so she could warn her. In an update, she mentioned that after much time had passed, she walked into the nearby UPS store to ask if the vehicle belonged to anyone. After finding the owner, she explained the situation. The woman clarified that the man was her ex, and that he often did things like that. She also admitted that she found it cute but weird.

The air freshener in the stranger's Jeep was the same one Katherine had, leading her to conclude that the owner was likely a woman. Nothing prepared her for the revelation, but she was relieved to know it wasn’t serious. The stranger thanked her for being considerate and for warning her. People, however, had different takes. While some laughed it off, others noted that her ex’s behavior was unacceptable. @mirandathepoet said, “This is just as bad.” @flowerpot32521 added, “Thank you for taking the extra step to keep someone safe. You never know.” @ellabellableu remarked, “She is way too relaxed about this; there’s no way this ends well.”

Creepy exes have unfortunately become a common reality for many. Instead of ending things on a respectful note, many former partners turn to unwanted behavior. Some even whip up lies to make the victim sound like the villain in the story. In one such instance, a woman had endured enough before ending things with an abusive guy. When the man got into another relationship, he lied to his new girlfriend, saying he had blocked his ex on all social media. In reality, she was the one who had blocked him on all platforms. She unblocked him on Facebook, and when his new partner checked his phone, she learned the truth and cut him off.
