Daughter opened mom's text and saw her hugging a random stranger at store — the 'unhinged' caption blew her mind

One of the parental instincts is to do wholesome things for kids, even if they have not asked for it. A woman's mom shared a prime example of it when she went up to a stranger at a grocery store and hugged him. Also, the mom sent the picture to her daughter, who was quite confused after seeing what was written after it. However, at the end of the entire ordeal, the woman, Sarah Bridge (@sarah__bridge on TikTok) realized that her mom, Christina, was truly her biggest wingwoman.

Christina texted Bridge a photo, and in it, she was standing close to a very tall man and hugging him around the waist in the produce aisle. The text read, "Found your husband." A confused Bridge asked, "Mom! Who is that?" Her mom clarified that it was a random guy at the grocery store. "TikTok, do your thing. I feel like I owe this man an apology," the caption to the video read. Bridge shared that her mom had always been her biggest hype woman, and something like this was not unexpected. But she was confused as she was studying on the couch and got that random text from her mom, per PEOPLE. "My initial reaction was just confusion — like, who is this tall man and why is my mom holding him like she's known him for years?"

"I didn't recognize him at all, so I knew he wasn't from our hometown, which made it even more random. I couldn't tell if I should be concerned or impressed," Bridge shared about her mom's gesture, per the outlet. "She had walked up to this guy in the middle of the produce section and told him, 'I have a 6-foot single daughter who doesn't believe there are tall guys here at home — can I get a picture with you?'" Christina had intervened in her love life before, but this incident was too much, even according to her mom's standards. "She went from gentle nudges to full-on casting director for my love life in the span of one produce aisle. It was peak mom energy: totally unhinged but kind of iconic."

However, her mom hadn't gotten the guy's name, number, or Instagram account, so Bridge decided to post the video on TikTok to track him down and apologize to him. In an update, she shared that she had received a response from the guy. It read, "Hey there! I'm that guy your mom found at the grocery store. Really nice lady, by the way — no need to apologize!" She found out he was neither from her town nor from the country, per the outlet. He was from Canada, but he still found the video and so did his friends and connections. People shared their thoughts about the incident in the comments.
