She postponed her flight home by two weeks for a man she’d just met abroad — what she found hidden in her luggage afterward left her speechless

We usually follow an itinerary while visiting a place, but fate has its own plans. A traveler named Megan Fornal, who goes by @meganfornal on TikTok, revealed that her trip to Ireland took an unexpected turn after she met a man. She delayed her return by two weeks so she could spend more time with him. In her post shared on August 18, 2026, she mentioned that when she got back to Canada and started unpacking, she found something unexpectedly beautiful. It left her smiling. 

Fornal took a chance and postponed her return after meeting the stranger. She spent time with him and his friends and enjoyed every bit of it. When she got back, she started unpacking and found handwritten notes left by the man in the most random spots. The first one was hidden away in her purse and read, “You thought this was the last note? Bold assumption.” She realized there was more and became eager to unpack. In her backpack, she found another message: “Just in case you forgot, you’re pretty amazing.” She then found another note in the pack of Band-Aids. Fornal said this one was by far the sweetest note she’d found so far. It said, “Some people make places feel warmer; you did that to my whole house.” 

She was blushing as she read each line. She was unsure if there were any more messages since she still had a bit to unpack. In an update, she revealed that even days later, she found one note after another. One was in her jacket pocket, the other in her phone case. She was surprised by the “deep-dive” he had done to hide the messages, but added that she trusted him, so she didn’t mind him going through her stuff. The simple gesture made her feel appreciated but also helped ease the empty feeling many experience after a good vacation ends. He gave her something to look forward to, and Fornal was immensely grateful.

Her story was a whimsical reminder for hopeless romantics. Meetings with strangers can have their own unique and memorable moments. In another priceless encounter, a woman formed an unexpected friendship with a stranger at a bar. They spoke for a few hours before going their separate ways. Weeks later, the same person called her. Little did she know it would become a conversation to remember. Minutes into the call, she told the woman she was calling because she wanted to speak with someone who would be happy for her. She explained that she had gotten a promotion and the first person she thought of to share the news was her. The woman felt a different kind of joy after that call, and their connection undoubtedly became a special one.
