A breakup can be difficult to navigate, especially when a couple has been living and managing their lives together. A Reddit user who goes by u/Impressive-Tour-7356 shared a post on Thursday, August 13, 2026, revealing that she was forced to exact revenge after her partner refused to pay $400 post-breakup. The woman decided to move out, leaving the man as the only person living there. Due to an error, the internet bill remained in her name, causing her to pay the hefty amount or face fines. When she asked him to sort out the issue, she received no response, prompting her to get her money back in her own creative way.

This happened years ago, when the couple broke up. The woman contacted the internet company to transfer the bills to his name. While she was assured that the transfer would be handled, around four or five months later, she started receiving warnings that she had around $400 in unpaid bills to pay. She asked her ex to send her the money, but received no reply. That’s when she used her former partner’s card that was still linked to her DoorDash every time she wanted to order. “I spend the next several weeks ordering tons of food off his card because he was too dumb to cancel it sooner. So I got my money back one way or another,” she remarked.

In the comments, the woman mentioned that she ensured she paid the bills and sorted out the issue so she wouldn’t have any trouble again. She also mentioned that DoorDash banned her after discovering what she had done, yet she was glad she got reimbursed in some form. Reddit users were proud that she got her payback in such a creative manner. u/Ashamba said, “That is a lovely, hopefully tasty, way to break even.” u/tulip27 joked, “I hope you tipped well.” u/Standard-Contest-949 hoped she made the best use of the trick, saying, “With DoorDash you could spend $400 in a week easy! Get anything, food, supplies, liquor.”

People prefer ending things on a respectful note if the relationship is not working. However, if the respect is not mutual, one can expect petty revenge. In another instance, a woman decided to get even with her former partner after he treated her poorly and dumped her. She had been enduring disrespect from her partner, who repeatedly told her he could do better, before he left her for another person.

When his new relationship ended, he decided to play the victim on social media. That’s when she knew it was time to act. She used Gemini AI to create a picture of herself on a date with another man and posted it to her story. Sure enough, her ex got insecure and needy after watching it and texted her, “Hey, it’s been a while.” What followed was what she describes as “the rejection of a lifetime.” “Petty? Yes. But priceless revenge? Also yes,” she noted.
