Stranger found unconscious man outside her home late at night — what she did instead of leaving him alone left his girlfriend grateful
Finding an unconscious stranger outside one's home late at night can be frightening, especially when there is no way to know what happened to them. One woman faced this situation after returning home from a night out, when she noticed a man lying unconscious outside her house. The incident took place around 12 years ago and involved content creator and entrepreneur Helena Di Biase's then-boyfriend, who had attended a house party and consumed too much alcohol. Helena later shared the story in an Instagram video posted on September 29, 2026, under the handle @helenadibiase_, recalling an experience that left her grateful to a stranger.

After waiting outside for a taxi, Helena's boyfriend had fallen asleep and become unconscious outside the woman's home. Rather than leaving him there, the woman brought him water and a blanket and helped position him against a wall to reduce the risk of him choking on his vomit. She also tried to find a way to contact someone who knew him. Helena explained that her partner was a 6-foot-3 former rugby player, making the stranger's decision to approach him even more striking. Despite not knowing who he was, she stayed with him and tried to make sure he would be safe.

The woman managed to access his phone and found Helena's number, then called her for help. The content creator drove over to collect her boyfriend, while the stranger remained beside him until she arrived. Helena recalled the woman's words: "I am so happy that he's going to get home safely." The woman waited for someone who could take him home, helping ensure he was not left alone in a vulnerable state. Her kindness gave Helena a reason to remember the incident years later. The woman didn't think about the danger she might put herself in while helping the drunk man; instead, she focused on his safety.

Some good Samaritans refuse to turn a blind eye when someone needs help. This was clear in another similar incident when a woman named Maddy Velez suddenly became confused and lost control of her movements after drinking only a small amount at a club in Austin. She suspected that someone had tampered with her drink, but the people around her mistook her condition for intoxication. After she collapsed, she was escorted outside and left alone, unsure of what was happening to her.

Two women then noticed her condition and stepped in to help. They reassured her, saying, "We've been through this before, we're going to help you." They called her boyfriend, who came to take her home. Although the couple had been going through a difficult period, she eventually moved back in with him, and they later got married. The frightening experience also led Velez to seek therapy, attend yoga classes, and rethink her social circle. She credited the two strangers with helping her through a dangerous night and changing the course of her life.
