Toddler asked mom what year she was born. When she replied 1989, his next two cheeky questions left his dad rolling with laughter
Children will say the most unhinged things and make you reflect in a way you never imagined. A mother and Instagram user, Linh, recently became the center of one such moment while spending time with her toddlers in the living room. Their dad quietly recorded the exchange as one of the triplets asked innocent but surprisingly savage questions about her age. Sharing the post on her account @thetripletjays on Monday, May 25, 2026, she revealed how, after she mentioned her birth year, the humorous jabs were delivered instantly.
The video began with one toddler sweetly asking, “What year were you born, mommy?” She calmly answered that she was born in 1989, expecting the conversation to end there. That's when his creative brain got to work, and he immediately inquired, “Were you in the Vietnam War?” before following it up with, “Did you see dinosaurs?” Linh immediately laughed and shook her head while trying to process the questions. Behind the camera, the father could be heard laughing loudly as she stood speechless after the last remark.
The playful teasing did not stop there, according to the caption. The parent noted that “the boys have lots of jokes these days,” adding that nobody in the house was safe from their comments, “not even Mama Linh.” The tiny tot later also had another question that humbled her instantly. "He asked if one of my farts created the Big Bang!" she exclaimed. Kids often say the funniest things without realizing how brutal their honesty can sound. The short clip garnered more than 3.3 million views, and many internet users expressed how the family’s reactions made the moment even more entertaining.
@keepingitrealruff wrote in the comment section, "Oh my goodness, that's cute, but your parents are not that old, honey." @itscamylorena joked, "Who needs enemies? When you have kids who roast you? 'Dinosaurs' was too far!" @mesha_0106 shared, "My kid asked what year I was born, I told him 1992. He asked if I knew Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and if we had a color TV." @jessmabbutt exclaimed, "Kids are hilarious, but so humbling at the same time!" Banter in families often creates the most wholesome moments. In another similar incident, a dad found himself getting roasted by his kids during a car ride after they learned he had been with their mom for 23 years.
The children were shocked and quickly responded, “23 years? That’s old,” before turning the conversation into a nonstop joke session about their parents’ age. The remarks became even funnier when the kids started imagining life back then and asked, “Did you and mum get invited to the Queen’s coronation and what did you wear?” They later hilariously asked, “Mommy and Daddy went on a double date with Mary and Joseph!” The father mostly stayed quiet while the children laughed at their own wild questions. He later lightheartedly suggested, “I think the kids should walk to school from now on."
