Two women and four children were trapped in building fire — man's unthinkable action saved their lives

People might put their own lives on the line to help strangers at times. A man in Paris did just that when an apartment complex was on fire. The person, Fousseynou Cissé, climbed a narrow ledge 30 feet above the ground to save women and children stuck inside a burning apartment. The remarkable rescue of four children and two women was caught on camera and shared by Brut America (@brut.india on Instagram). People on the internet praised the man for his incredible courage.

Cissé scaled the side of the apartment so he could reach the apartment where the women and children were stuck. He climbed a neighboring building and got to the ledge where two families were stuck inside their sixth-floor apartment in the 18th arrondissement (district) of the city. The place was surrounded by smoke and flames after the fire broke out in the building on multiple floors below the family's house. The officials were really grateful for what the man did for the families and how he stepped up even when he had to risk his own life.

In a clip, the man could be seen standing on the narrow ledge and encouraging a mother to hand over her children as he led them to the window of a neighboring building and to safety from the smoke that was rapidly increasing. He rescued the two families living on the top floor like that, after which the emergency workers arrived at the scene to help the remaining residents of the building. All the rescued people were taken to the hospital to be treated for any injuries and smoke inhalation. People praised the man's brave and humane act in the comments section of the video.
"One day in 1985, a baby was born to save babies in the future," commented @digital.lychee. "Together, we go far. What beautiful act of heroism, selflessness and community," added @toombchi.
In a similar incident, a disabled woman credits her life to her pet dog, who stepped in just in time to save her from a house fire. Melissa Hoffman and her pets were trapped inside when her house caught fire, reported The Washington Post. However, her 8-year-old pet pooch Maya hovered over her and covered her to protect her from the flames until help arrived. "The dog was unconscious on her chest, protecting her airway and ended up taking the brunt of the heat. That dog is a hero,” Fire Captain Josh Leonard of the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District told the publication. While the canine's actions did save Melissa's life, she suffered third-degree burns but recovered after intense treatment at the hospital.
