Dogs are one of the most intelligent and emotionally sensitive animals out there. They can understand much, not only about their owners but also other human beings. Canines also have unconditional love to offer and a perfect glimpse was seen in a video captured by an Uber driver. Timber (@timbersgottaroll), the unique driver with their canine friend, shared videos of his trips and conversations with passengers on TikTok. One ride, however, was exceptionally bittersweet. The sweet canine jumped onto the backseat moments after the passenger got in and she was immediately moved to tears.

The man and his dog heartily welcomed the passenger, Daniella. She seemed to be completely fine and in awe of Timber. Asking his name and about him, she was going with the flow as the ride commenced. A few moments after the brief conversation, Timber hurried and jumped from the front seat to the back and sat beside Daniella. The woman began to pet him and cuddle him and the dog refused to come back to his designated place. He remained put with the passenger and even sat close to her, allowing her to get all the cuddling and warmth she needed. Soon, the woman broke down and began sobbing at the back of the car.

The driver was initially unaware as he was focused on driving. Timber, however, knew something he didn’t. The woman closely held Timber’s face in her hands and put her head to his as she continued weeping. It was only when the man asked how Daniella’s day was that he heard her broken voice and realized she’d been crying. “I lost my dog,” the woman said, gathering all possible strength to speak and then bursting into tears all over again. Dogs understand human beings’ emotions, especially when they’re sad or depressed, per VCA Animal Hospital.

Having been connected with human beings for decades, canines are not strangers to their tendencies. They are able to read situations, feelings and even a person to understand what’s going on. Once dogs understand, they try their best to communicate and empathize. Timber understood there was some sadness and grief lingering in the passenger’s heart. He didn’t hesitate to respond and provide comfort. The man tried to speak and comfort her, but she couldn’t hold back her tears. Timber stayed by her side throughout and silently let her know he was right there.

Daniella learned that the man, too, had lost his pet and got Timber a few months later. “When it’s time, you’ll find your pet too,” he assured her. He also let her know that getting another pet didn’t mean she was replacing or betraying her late furry pal. “You’re not taking the love for that dog, you’re just finding more love in your heart for the other,” he explained. “It’s always hard losing a pet. I’m glad Timber was there to bring her comfort,” the driver wrote in the caption. @robertjacob11 said, “Timber said, ‘Let me show her it’s okay to love again.’” @jessiexcouture said, “That’s not a dog, that’s an angel.” @marylouwhoo83 remarked, “Timber took one look and said, ‘I got this.’ We don’t deserve animals.” @koblynndeems remarked, "The way Timber knew that she needed him."
