Wedding photographer asks couple’s parents to kiss passionately for a photo — seconds later, the groom’s bombshell revelation leaves him red-faced
Wedding photographers love capturing moments from all kinds of love stories, be it the newlyweds or the timeless bond between their parents. However, Dylan Parde (@dylanparde) encountered an awkward moment while working as a wedding photographer. Parde was taking photos of the newlyweds' parents and asked them to kiss passionately for the photos. However, the groom, who noticed something, revealed a surprising truth that left him squirming in embarrassment. Sharing the story with his Instagram followers on November 2, 2025, the photographer mentioned how the revelation left him red-faced.
Parde was at a wedding, where he was clicking pictures of the bride and groom's parents. After photographing the bride's parents, he asked the groom's parents to pose for a passionate kiss. While they hesitated at first, they went along with it. However, the groom, who was watching, revealed that his parents had been divorced for a while, and it was the first time in many years he had seen them kiss. Parde, who was clueless about this, immediately approached the couple to apologize. He told them that they didn't need to follow everything a photographer says.
Despite the awkwardness, the parents did not seem too offended by the photographer's request. And this stems from one's maturity over time, and the son's reaction says it all. According to a study published in PMC, children suffer the most when parents choose to separate. However, resolving conflicts and choosing to co-parent cordially is essential when kids are involved. "Experts advise parents to set aside their own negative feelings, and develop a collaborative and cooperative business-type relationship with the person whom they may consider to be the source of great personal distress," the study noted.
Despite being divorced for years, the elderly couple chose to come together for their son's wedding and did not make a fuss when asked to pose as a couple. After all, the photo is now a treasured memory for the groom, who got to see his parents together after a long time. Parde's video drew attention from many internet users who suggested that the couple may have had lingering feelings for each other.

You just gave them the excuse to do it." @awesomest.possum expressed, "What a wedding gift for their child, though. I am blessed to have parents who still love each other and would never divorce, but I imagine for a child with divorced parents, it is healing or comforting to see affection between them."
