Woman confronted her creepy neighbor after he ignored her repeated warnings and approached her car—his entitled response made her feel even less safe
A woman's "no" should be enough, but that isn't always the case. TikTok creator Erica, who goes by @ericaoffrecord, shared a video on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, showing a confrontation with her neighbor after he spent more than a year ignoring her boundaries. Even after she repeatedly asked him to leave her alone, he continued approaching her, later accusing her of having "a personality problem" when she finally raised her voice.
Erica was in the middle of a heated conversation with her neighbor. She repeatedly mentioned that she was uncomfortable with him and told him that this wasn't the first time she had addressed the issue. She recalled how he walked up to her car and questioned why she wouldn't talk to him. When she told him that it had "better not happen again," he brushed it off, saying it had only been "a joke." The victim immediately pushed back, telling him, "That's not funny to a woman who lives alone." Instead of apologizing, the man laughed it off and continued approaching her, leaving her increasingly frustrated.
The woman had made multiple attempts to politely let him know she didn't want to entertain him, in text and in person. Instead, he kept approaching her. There were several instances where he ignored her personal space and was "in her face" while interacting with her, leaving Erica more and more terrified. "I am even worried in my apartment at night," she said. "I don't feel comfortable," she added. Yet, the man relentlessly accused her of being harsh and kept laughing at her. The exchange got intense to the point where she threatened to call the police and mentioned that she was shaking due to the overwhelming situation. To this, he confidently asked, "On what account?" Moments later, he told her, "You got a personality problem."
According to the CDC, about 1 in 5 women in the U.S. have experienced stalking during their lifetime. Among those victims, nearly three-quarters said someone repeatedly approached them or showed up at places like their home, work, or school when they didn't want them to, and almost all said it left them feeling afraid or concerned for their safety. After a year of requesting him to leave her alone, the woman found herself frustrated and anxious every time he came near. How long does a woman need to keep refusing for someone to understand that she is not interested? Many users praised her for standing up for herself. @lady wrote, "Please tell me you reported to your leasing office." @KatiC commented, "I'm so proud of you, keep standing up for yourself, ladies." @TURBO wrote, "The fact he laughed is all you need to know. Don't ever lower your tone."
