Woman grew frustrated when her bracelet snagged on the door as she left home — what she saw outside 5 minutes later made her grateful for the delay
It is said that delays are part of the journey. That statement always feels like sympathy, but one mom’s experience changed perspectives. Jennifer Hardy, who goes by @jenhardy_nc on Instagram, shared how a simple hindrance on her way out the door to get ice cream saved her life. In the clip shared on Thursday, October 8, 2026, she recalled how she was in a hurry to get her mom some ice cream when her cross bracelet got caught up in the door. Though she was frustrated at the moment, when she learned it saved her life, she was stunned.
The bracelet got caught, opened, and was flung across the space. She had to spend a good five minutes or so before she found it. When she stepped out after putting it on again, she saw there had been a horrific accident. Three cars had crashed, and it was so bad that the vehicles were turned upside down, while one was pinned under the other. “We had just missed the accident, and I believe with all my heart, God was protecting us.” Hardy couldn’t help but get emotional. She mentioned how she was so frustrated after the bracelet got caught up. It felt like another obstacle to add to the unending impromptu happenings. However, looking back, she was beyond grateful.

In her caption, Hardy mentioned that the incident made her thankful for delays. Instead of seeing them as annoying hindrances, she now realized they were details God used to save people from things they had no idea about. The woman gave an assurance that if there’s something that’s not working out, or something that’s taking time, it is only temporary redirection for something better. Coincidences or random happenings surface for unexpected reasons that we may only understand later. In another instance, a postal worker didn’t think he would end up saving an elderly woman’s life on a routine workday.

It was the holiday season, and he had some deliveries to make. When he finished his job, he noticed one neighborhood home’s lights were not yet turned on. It was already evening, so he casually decided to check. When he went to knock on the window, he saw what looked like a person lying on the floor, and it also seemed like there was blood around. He tried to knock and get contact from inside, but in vain. That’s when he called 911. Medics and first responders arrived on the scene and quickly took the woman to the hospital. The worker remained with her for a while until he was certain she would be okay. Later, her son came to tend to her, and after spending a few days in the ICU, she was stable. The man thanked the postal worker for his simple observation and thoughtfulness that helped save a life.
