Plans don’t always go as expected, especially when effort meets last-minute changes. A woman was getting ready for her first date on the second day of her period, hoping for a simple and enjoyable evening, only to have it disrupted just 25 minutes before the meeting. Shared by Olivia Barbulescu, who goes by @oliviabarbulescu, the video posted on January 5, 2026, captured her reaction as the man shared his excuse behind the cancellation, showing the mix of frustration and disbelief many could relate to.

Just as Olivia was walking to the date, she received a text from the man saying he wanted to reschedule. She recorded herself as she left home for the meet-up, and the pure expression of irritation could be seen on her face. The man then gave the reason behind as "because he's feeling low energy." The timing, only 25 minutes before they were supposed to meet, immediately frustrated her. She pointed out that he could have grabbed a coffee or a sugar-free energy drink like Red Bull to push through. His excuse, arriving so close to the meeting, also angered viewers online and was widely seen as unreasonable given the timing and effort she had already made.

"So you can get out of bed and chug a little bit of caffeine and figure it out," she exclaimed in the video. Adding to the difficulty, the woman was on the second day of her period, a time known to bring cramps, pain, and mood changes. Medical research has shown that periods can cause both physical and emotional symptoms due to hormonal shifts, including cramps, fatigue, irritability, mood swings, bloating, headaches, and breast tenderness. The discomfort she felt already made standing outside in the heat more challenging, which made the last-minute cancellation even more frustrating, highlighting how physical discomfort can amplify emotional reactions.

The weather that day was also around 25 degrees, which added to her frustration as she walked toward the meeting spot. She expressed her annoyance openly, stressing that a simple effort could have avoided the situation. Situations like this often show how small decisions, such as keeping plans, reflect respect and consideration for others, especially when someone is already coping with discomfort. The clip quickly gained attention online, amassing more than 1.4 million views. Many people resonated with her reaction, sharing their own experiences of last-minute cancellations and weak excuses.

The outrage online highlights how small acts, or the lack of them, can leave a lasting impression, showing that thoughtfulness in everyday interactions is still highly valued. One user, @tough_mary, joked, "Dates are like dentist appointments, we require 24 hours' notice for cancellations." While @plavator shared, "This happened to me once, so I just went to a bar and met up with another guy, it was electric." @ivanka.dekoning mentioned, "Abort girl. That is red flag energy!" @glowmaven wrote, "You’re better than me. I would never have agreed to doing anything outside my house on day two of my period."
