Woman stopped on a trail to eat fruits when a stranger asked for an orange — and it led to an interview for her dream job
Kindness has a profound impact, and sometimes, it can reward you in ways that might surprise you. A Threads user who goes by @_aramat had stopped to eat some fruits when a stranger parked his bike in front of her and asked if she could spare an orange. After she shared one with him, they struck up a conversation. One thing led to another, and she eventually landed an interview for her dream job. On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the woman revealed how her gesture made way for a bigger opportunity, which once seemed impossible.
A woman had stopped by the trail to eat a banana and two oranges. That's when a stranger approached her, asking if he could have an orange. She obliged and eventually started talking with him. To her surprise, the man was the COO of the company she had always wanted to work for. Although she had considered applying for a position, she did not meet the qualifications for it and never gave it a shot. Following the incident, he personally invited her for an interview in July. Expressing her happiness over what unfolded, she wrote, "Being kind wins again!" The post garnered significant positive responses from online users.
@donebb quipped, "How long did you have to stalk him with your extra orange strategy plan to finally rein him in? Just kidding, I truly hope this all works out the way you want it to." @mariorlcalderon commented, "This is not how I thought this story was going to go. Good for you!" @thatwomaninvegas added, "The universe aligns us with the opportunities so long as we act!" Sometimes, a little kindness can go a long way. In another instance, a 9-year-old boy named Kelvin Ellis showed selflessness in the truest sense. He saw a man standing in a corner of a coffee shop. Assuming he was homeless, he approached him with the $1 note he had and gave it to him.
The man, Matthew Busbice, was actually a multi-millionaire. He had stepped out of his home in a hurry after the fire alarm went off and decided to grab a cup of coffee. He was praying in the corner when the 9-year-old saw him. Seeing how the boy was willing to give the only dollar he had, he was moved. While he refused to take the money, he took Ellis on a shopping spree and made his day. "If you give, you're actually going to get more out of that. I couldn't grasp that as a kid. And if we can spread that around, everything changes," Busbice noted.
