Woman was cornered by a creepy man at a laundromat — one chilling remark about removing stains sent him running
Many women are taught to handle uncomfortable interactions by staying polite enough not to offend someone or accidentally encourage more attention, even if the person making them uncomfortable is a creep. Yet every so often, a situation leaves people wondering whether being the more unsettling person in the conversation might actually shut it down faster. TikTok user Bella Roams, who goes by @thealchemists_garden, shared one such anecdote on Saturday, May 23, 2026. When the man who had been bothering her for quite some time approached her at the laundromat to "talk" about the stain remover she was using, her one cold reply made him bolt.
While Roams was quietly pre-treating her clothes at the laundromat, the man walked over and tried starting a conversation. Pointing at the stain remover in her hand, he casually asked whether it actually worked. Although this was clearly a bad attempt to talk to her, she didn't create a scene and instead answered normally, explaining that it was not even her preferred brand and that she usually used Zout instead. Curious, the man kept the conversation going and asked what made it better. That was when she calmly replied that Zout could remove grease stains, grass stains, and even blood stains, adding that someone could practically “murder somebody” and still wash the evidence out of their clothes.
The cold comeback immediately changed the tone of the conversation. After awkwardly asking for the product name one more time, he quickly turned around and walked away. The creator later explained that this was not even the first uncomfortable situation she had experienced with the man at that laundromat. She recognized his vehicle the moment she arrived and admitted her immediate reaction was frustration. Hoping to keep her distance, she deliberately parked farther away and entered through the back door instead of the front.
Even then, the man still approached her while she was doing laundry. That context made her unsettling “blood stain” response feel less random and more like the reaction of someone simply getting tired of constantly managing another person’s behavior. Ironically, not having her usual stain remover nearby ended up giving her the perfect opportunity to make him uncomfortable enough to finally leave her alone.
Turns out creepy and unsettling comebacks really do seem to work on people who refuse to respect boundaries. In another incident, Instagram user Tori shared how a stranger at a bar repeatedly ignored her attempts to reject him and kept pushing the conversation anyway. According to her, the man started by complimenting her dimples and body before insisting he could show her a “good time.” Even after she directly told him she was not interested in anything he could offer, he continued hovering around the table, bragging about his car and money as though persistence alone would eventually wear her down.
Things escalated when he complimented her long red nails, clearly trying to turn the conversation flirtatious again. Tori decided she had finally had enough. She casually mentioned her nails were good for scratching, and when the man predictably joked about them scratching his back, she immediately shot back, “You went to that, and I went to scratching your eyes out.” The mood shifted instantly. The man did accuse her of being "aggressive," but at least Tori was finally left alone.
