Woman’s ‘peak middle age’ moment while planning dinner with friends is super relatable to millennials and Gen X

There is some comfort life brings as we age and grow with the years. Maybe you leave behind your young vibe, and many changes start to set in, but best believe that these same changes are what become a soothing embrace. A 42-year-old woman named Carly Box (@carly.box) revealed that she felt on top of the world after embracing her millennial lifestyle. She had a dinner planned with a fellow millennial friend and moments before she could leave, a comforting and exciting realization struck her and she absolutely adored it. The magical part is that other Gen Xers and millennials relate a little too much to this top-notch moment.

The woman revealed that she was all dressed and headed to dinner with one of her friends. “The best part about being middle-aged is that it’s 4:40. I’m about to go meet her for dinner at 5. We both agreed that 5 pm was an excellent time to have some dinner and drinks,” she said with an impressed smile. She confidently noted that her decision was “sensible.” “We get home at a sensible hour. We’re not too hungover, we wake up in the morning relatively fresh,” she remarked. Furthermore, the woman mentioned that she was not alone in this unusual plan. She pointed out, “All my millennial friends want to do the same.” And wait, there’s more.

Box was delighted to reveal that her millennial years left out trying hard, being overly fashionable, or having the best appearance. Her pride stood in comfort, and it was revealed in her cozy and stretchable shorts, t-shirt and shoes she donned. She didn’t worry about makeup and accessories and just put on what made her look decent and fit her personality the best way possible. “There is so much about being middle-aged that is so good,” she added. She flaunted her look and her plans but what shone through the most was that she was completely comfortable with herself just the way she was.
“Being middle-aged has epic positives. This is my favorite,” she wrote in the caption. She seemed to have a freedom and a carefree attitude that was the focus of her evening. Many fellow millennials related to this worry-free energy. They adored early dinners, comfy clothing and just being themselves unapologetically. @nm_nvan joked, “‘42 is middle-aged?’ First of all, how dare you? And secondly, yes, 5 pm is a preferable time for dinner and drinks.” @sarahj77 chimed in, “38 here. I also have dinner by 5.30 pm, in bed by 9, and wake up at 6 am. It’s so nice.”

@austar1290 remarked, “1980 model here and this is 100% correct. 6.30 pm is absolutely the latest, or else I’m not going.” @mamajulezzz shared her perspective and said, “I get it. At 63, all the girls come over every Friday night, it’s BYO, so they bring their plate and arrive by 4 pm. We’re all in bed, asleep by 9 pm latest with a happy heart.” @blue69406 remarked, “I’m 40 and I now understand why grandma loved dinner at 4.30- 5.00. How dare they keep me in the office till 5 pm?”
