11-yr-old waiting for her bus was grabbed by knife-wielding kidnapper—but homemade slime in her hand foiled his plan

If you unfortunately find yourself in the face of danger or at the hands of a criminal, your first thought would be to get out of there. 11-year-old Alyssa Bonal had that in mind but her very next thought was an incredible idea from the popular series “Law & Order SVU.” A man attemped kidnapping by a man who had a knife, Pensacola News Journal reported. At the spur of the moment, when she had no one to help, her own life was in her hands. However, instead of being afraid and confused, the girl recalled bravery and ingeniously used the blue slime in her hands to aid her rescue.

Recalling how the incident took place, Alyssa’s mother, Amber, noted that her daughter was waiting for the bus at the Pensacola bus stop. Usually, the mom would walk her to the stop, but because she had to change her 18-month-old that day and Alyssa was already late, she asked her to go ahead. The girl casually began walking and waited while she mixed blue dye into the slime. She had been playing with it when she saw a strange man running towards her. He reportedly grabbed her by the neck and tried to kidnap her. Footage from ABC 7 shows how the bizarre man made a run for the girl before trying to get his hands on her.

The girl immediately fled and ran until she reached her mom and revealed everything. "Her first words were, 'Somebody tried to kidnap me. He grabbed me by my throat and he had a knife,” Amber recalled. Fortunately, Amber had been watching every episode of “Law & Order SVU” and also coincidentally had a conversation with her mum about such scenarios a few days ago. “I don't know how or why it got brought up but I was telling them that if anyone ever tried to abduct you, you kick and scream and bite and yell," Amber shared. She had also told her daughter not to worry about any weapon the person might have and run towards the “first open door” she saw.

Right enough, the girl did just that — and more. She smartly kicked and tripped the kidnapper and was able to free herself. Before she could escape to the “first door,” her neighbor’s house, she remembered to do something brilliant. Alyssa used the slime she had in her hands to “leave behind evidence.” In the process, she got the slime all over herself, too. She quickly spread it on the man as best as she could before escaping. She headed over to the neighbor’s house and then straight to her mom. Amber immediately called the police and mentioned the details.
Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons reviewed the footage and was able to identify 30-year-old Jared Paul Stanga. The blue dye on his arms further became evidence to identify and press charges against him. Stange was charged with attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery. The judge set his bond at more than $1.5 million. Amber is super proud that her daughter could recall crucial information to act bravely and save herself. The mom is also advocating for the safety of children. “We need to bring more awareness to something like this, because it could have been really bad,” she said.
