Many people go above and beyond to honor their idols. But a 5-year-old's tribute to his favorite biologist on his 99th birthday will leave anyone in awe. The kid named Max had been in love with animals, and British biologist and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, ever since he could talk, according to a Facebook post from his mom, Samantha Evans-Browning. So when he learned that the biologist was turning 99, he undertook a massive project and the mom hoped that the internet could help Max's message reach Sir David Attenborough, per BBC News.

"Anyone who knows Max knows that since he could talk, he has been obsessed with animals and Sir David Attenborough," Evans-Browning wrote. The boy even dressed as Sir Attenborough for World Book Day when he was 3 years old. He has watched everything related to the biologist and can talk about animals "non-stop." The mom added, "He has done litter picking to help the environment and has so many animal encyclopaedias I can't keep up." Max knew that Mr. Attenborough was about to turn 99, so he undertook a task to make a special birthday card with 99 animals on it. "A mammoth task for a 5-year-old, but he's done it." The mom and son spent hours researching Mr. Attenborough's favorite animals and finally found 99 that made it on the card.

"The proud Mummy that I am, I would love to try and get it so the man himself gets to see this as it would be my little boy's dream," the mom admitted. She requested people to share the post as much as possible so that it might reach the biologist and he would get to see the 99 animals Max drew for his birthday. "Thank you in advance and Mr Attenborough, if you ever see this… Happy Birthday from Max Evans-Browning, age 5, from Pembrokeshire." The card took eight A3 sheets and the boy sat down every evening after school for days to complete the project, per the outlet. "[Max] watches animals, reads about animals, his bedroom is animals," the mom told the outlet. "And he knows the rarest animals. He will say, 'I know that it's a pangolin' and I'm like, what, I don't even know what that is."

The boy has carefully listened to all of Mr. Attenborough's documentaries and has taken time to absorb each thing. "He loves the ocean, but all the plastic makes him angry," Evans-Browning shared. "Some of the scenes you would think might upset him, but ever since a young age, it hasn't. He would say, 'Well, a predator goes after its prey, that's life.'" She went on, "It's true, but it's funny coming out of a little person." The post got a lot of attention from people worldwide, but the boy really hopes that his idol gets to see it. Many people also shared their thoughts on the boy's special gift in the comment section.

Leeann Broome wrote, "Aww, wow, this is the cutest thing I’ve seen. I really hope it can get to the man himself. Good luck, Max, in getting your wish." Anna Morgan commented, "Wow, well done, Max, that’s absolutely amazing! What a massive effort you’ve made! I hope Sir David sees it, as I think he would be astounded! Your drawings are brilliant!" Kim Roberts remarked, "His drawings are incredible for a 5-year-old. Hope this goes far and wide for him."
