9-year-old's jaw-dropping audition on 'AGT' was so iconic that judges gladly changed the rules
Everyone has some talent that gives them a unique headstart in different categories. This talent, when backed with hard work, has the potential to reach heights. When 9-year-old Victory Brinker appeared for an audition on "America’s Got Talent", her voice had something so powerful that judges had to go above and beyond for her. There was something special about the little girl’s performance from the start. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Brinker came with the mission to receive 4 yeses to her performance. Instead, she got something even more spectacular.
As judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel sat to learn more about the girl, her personality had them swept off their feet already. When asked what she’d like to do with the prize money that she'd receive if she did well, her first, spontaneous answer was, “Get Simon a shirt with rainbows and glitter on it.” Her idea behind the peculiar present was also genius. “You need some color,” she remarked. Commencing a shocking performance, Brinker left everyone jaw-dropped to the floor when she started rendering an opera performance, pitching a wide range of notes to perfection. People were mind-blown, as the 9-year-old flaunted gracefully, a mesmerizing vocal range.
What had the judges still shocked was that a bird made its way to the set and during Brinker’s performance, came near the stage to listen to the flawless acapella. Each of the judges titled the girl’s voice “powerful,” “angelic,” and so much more. Coming to Cowell, he complimented Brinker but had something more to say. “I think, you know, auditioning and turning up sometimes is really, really important for your career. I think you've been incredibly brave to come here, I have to say,” he added. However, Cowell suddenly requested to discuss something with host Terry Crews.
Leaving the audience and the little girl worried and wondering, he had a short conversation with the judges before he said, “We're not going to give you a yes today. We're gonna do something else we've never, ever, ever done on the show before. We're all going to give you something special,” he remarked. Receiving a mixed response from the audience, the judges were adamant about what they wanted to give Brinker. They decided that instead of the regular process and the cash prize, they were going to bend the rules for the girl and share something extraordinary with her. On the count of 5, all the judges and the host together, for the first time ever, pressed the golden buzzer for Brinker.
The judges all made their way to the excited little girl, too baffled to understand what just happened. Amid the applause echoing the set, they congratulated her. “Victory, you are going straight to the live shows,” Crews exclaimed. Cowell added, "Victory, you have the most amazing voice. You're going to Hollywood!” Her opera performance was far too precious and meticulous to waste any more time and straight to Hollywood was where Brinker needed to go! @nurseryrhymes79 wrote, “This girl is a miracle. She did one of the hardest songs and she slayed it. She deserved the golden buzzer.” @jmintz87 added, “This is one of the most difficult pieces for women who are sopranos. This young lady did amazing for her age.”
