A robber tried to snatch tourist's phone at a traffic intersection. Her brave response had him regretting his whole life
A female tourist surprised bystanders by fighting back when two men on a motorcycle tried to rob her in Buenos Aires. She was standing on the side of the road with a bike and using her phone. All of a sudden, two men came by from behind and snatched her phone from her. However, no one had expected the woman to fight the thieves, according to The US Sun.
The woman, 33-year-old Alexandra Doketova, had come to Buenos Aires from Russia for a holiday. She was simply cycling around the city when the men tried to snatch her phone away. However, the moment one of the men took the phone from her hands, she held on even tighter, making it near impossible for the robber to pry it from her. The woman tried to stop the man from taking her phone away at first. But when that didn't work, she held on to the bike to ensure that the men weren't able to drive away. She held onto the bike for quite some time as the men tried to drive away from the place. As the bike started picking up speed, the woman couldn't hold on any longer, so she grabbed onto the pillion rider.
She eventually managed to drag him off the bike as the other man ran off. She lay on the ground and held onto his leg. The man tried to fight her off and run away, but she refused to let go of his leg. At some point, passersby noticed the commotion and rushed to Alexandra's help. The person tackled the thief to the ground and the woman finally got a chance to let go and get up, while still clutching her phone. A car blocked the road to ensure the man couldn't run away. A crowd gathered near the man and one of the people also started kicking him as he lay on the ground. The woman got some bruises as she fought for her phone but was mostly okay. The police managed to capture both suspects and found over 10 phones at their residence, per the outlet.
Both of them had previous criminal records. The video was also posted on Reddit by u/Kindly_Department142. Many people appreciated the woman for her courage in the comments section of the post. u/bluestjordan wrote, "She doesn’t care if there’s no tomorrow. If she’s going down, she’s taking him with her. His ride, on the other hand, couldn’t get away fast enough." However, some people were also concerned. u/Alice_Oe commented, "She got super lucky. The South Korean ambassador to Spain was killed in Barcelona when someone grabbed her purse and she refused to let go."
u/Astrud_ remarked, "That's in Buenos Aires, people always try to help if you stumble on the street, need some directions, or whatever. Also, people are tired of the 'motochorros' (thieves in motorcycles) and thieves in general, so they're going to try to stop it at all costs." u/Melodic_Magician_992 shared, "Brave girl, but not sure a cellphone is worth risking yourself. Things could have turned out much differently. Glad everything turned out well!"
