Adam Pearson has a spot-on response to troll who called him ‘scary’

People need to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they do. Their appearance or background should not be put ahead of their talent and skill in giving them the due respect and acknowledgment they deserve. Unfortunately, in a world where physical attractions hold more leverage, people have to fight to stand out for their skills. For actor Adam Pearson, there were many trolls who ruthlessly criticized him after he posted his photos from the 2025 BAFTA Awards on X. When people made remarks about his looks and disrespected him, he had an equally spot-on response to shut them all.

Pearson has a condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 1, per The Daily Dot. It affects the skin and causes bone abnormalities and other disfigurements that alter the shape of the skin. The actor's looks have been completely altered due to the condition. Despite knowing this, some people choose to pass distasteful remarks about his appearance. User @FlopTingz reshared a post of a troll, @bloodylikeabody, who responded recklessly to the seating plan of the BAFTA Awards. In the post, you can see pictures of singer Camilla Cabello and Pearson placed side-by-side. The comment by @bloodylikeabody read, “This is genuinely scary. I would not attend even if I were Camilla.”
In a since-deleted post, Pearson shared a solid response that read, “Luckily for everyone, you’re not Camila and—most importantly—weren’t invited. So from me, Adam Pearson, directly to you— take your nonsense opinions elsewhere as I have exactly zero time for your anonymous, ableist nonsense.” In a follow-up post, the “A Different Man” star wrote, “As of a minute ago, I have deleted ‘that tweet.’ Whilst I still completely stand by its sentiment, I wish to put it behind me and move on and up.” For the actor, the ableism did not just end there. Many others on X thought it was okay to denigrate him over his condition. However, he knew how to handle trolls and he did that very well.

Pearson continued posting solo shots, as well as, pictures with other celebs from a night well spent unapologetically. It didn't sit well with online haters. A user, u/SafeBodyBuilder7191, shared a post of a now-deleted comment a troll, @fartsniffer0614, made. The insulting post consisted of a picture of Pearson and actor Warwick Davis (who has Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita). It read, “Was this an award show or a circus in town?” Replying boldly to this remark, Pearson wrote, “Has no one learned anything? So, to clarify, this was the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards. I find it somewhat ironic that you have ‘spreading kindness’ in your name whilst punching down 2 successful actors simply for being disabled. Take your ableism elsewhere.”
So how was your #BAFTA weekend? pic.twitter.com/gUlRrMoN9K

People wholeheartedly supported the actor’s spot-on responses. @starry_margie wrote, “The edgy trolls on here are choosing to pick on you because you're in the spotlight.” In response to this, Pearson boldly commented, “Well then, who am I to stand in between them and their 15 minutes of fame/infamy? Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. This isn’t about ‘hit tweets’ or ‘clout.’ I’ve been calling out online ableism since before they were born and will continue to do so.” @SimonMiller316 added, "Keep kicking ass, bro. Been so flipping cool to see. Absolute hero."

So, to clarify @fartsniffer0614 this was the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards. I find it somewhat ironic that you have “spreading kindness” in your name whilst punching down at 2 successful actor simple for being disabled.
