Babysitter called cops after a 13-year-old hurt her — then security footage exposed what she did to his autistic brother
When parents hire babysitters to look after their children, they trust that their kids will be well taken care of. But imagine having the police at your door after a babysitter calls the cops on your child. That sounds brutal, doesn't it? X user Hazel, who goes by @Hazel_qs, faced a similar ordeal once. The mother of two panicked when she received a call stating that her babysitter, Paula, had accused her 13-year-old son, Milo, of assault. However, once she rushed home, the security footage pulled up by the police revealed a different story. On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Hazel revealed what her son had exposed about the babysitter that ultimately led to her arrest instead.
“Your son attacked me,” the babysitter screamed over the phone.

“Police are already here.”
I rushed home shaking.
My 13-year-old son Milo was sitting outside smiling, blood on his hand.
Inside, our babysitter Paula was crying while officers wrapped a bandage around her ear.
“He…
Hazel's stomach dropped when she received a call from Paula, claiming that the police had already arrived. She immediately rushed home and saw her son with blood on his hands. She noticed the cops were wrapping a bandage around Paula's ear. To Hazel, Milo had always been a gentle kid. She immediately asked him what had happened. He revealed that his autistic brother Benji did not like the casserole and instead asked for cereal. Paula allegedly grew furious and dragged him by his ears to "teach him respect." She did not stop when Milo begged her to let go. "So I twisted her ear the same way she twisted his," Milo revealed.
When Paula began defending herself and accusing the boy of lying, Hazel reminded her that there were already cameras installed inside the house. The babysitter immediately backtracked and expressed that she did not want them to check the footage. The cops inspected the video and found that Milo was, in fact, telling the truth. The babysitter, who initially acted like a victim, was arrested. Following the incident, when her son asked whether he had been wrong for reacting the way he did, Hazel told him that she couldn't have been prouder of him for protecting his disabled brother.
Hazel's video received many reactions from internet users, who praised the teenager for fighting for his brother. @PatriceWeb8i commented, "It's sad that our society has gotten so bad that we need cameras in our homes, but I'm so glad you had one. You’ve raised an incredible, loving son." @SCinPL remarked, "The person has a terrible choice in babysitters. Hopefully, it will go better next time. Kids on the spectrum are tough to care for. But support is available." @Zenda1080809 noted, "People who hate kids shouldn't be babysitters. And there are plenty of them out there, believe me."
While the boy's reaction may seem extreme to some, it came from a place of wanting to protect his sibling. Watching Benji being mistreated upset Milo and prompted him to take matters into his own hands. His quick reaction, combined with Hazel's decision to trust her son before believing the babysitter's accusations, helped prevent the situation from escalating further.
